dunno. they're doing the announcement on their page which indicates that there's no publisher involved. either they're self publishing or they try to attract one with this campaign. with the latter one there's a big chance that they'll lose the rights to the ip to the publisher. imo they want to build up their own money milking universe and the upcoming announcement will be the first low budget step. i don't believe that you can develope a multiplatform rpg under such circumstances.

Man, whatever it is, 2013 will be the best year in RPGs in a decade... this game + Wasteland 2, Chaos Chronicles, Banner Saga, Shadowrun, Underrail, Age of Decadence, Dead State, Expeditions, etc...and others bound to come.

EDIT: We might even see Grimoire!

Would obsidian be able to license a d&d game? Since Atari lost the license I assume they would have to partner with whoever has the license now.

From the source code:
<!--. X . X X . T X --><!-- Two centuries ago, your divine champion told the people of Dyrwood to grovel at his feet. If you've come on pilgrimage to the blasted crater that was our reply, Godhammer Citadel is *that* way. -->

One of the Xs became a T...

Full sentence:

The book unread is unwritten.

The reason we don't explain it is the reason we use it. Its power is in its mystery. That is the Leaden Key, in part, in whole. Is it clear?

Digging for truth buries the seeker.

I'm getting so hyped. By the end of the week, I will squeek like a little girl. Just like before the South Park RPG announcement, and it turned out wonderful.... Oh wait.

Dammit, I refuse to get hyped over this. The last time I got hyped it was BGEE, and look how that turned out...

I'm guessing that it must feature powerful magic or technology, since they "blasted a crater" in reply to a "divine champion" trying to abuse them...

Anyway, they are really pushing this "undefined" thing...

They probably blasted that crater INTO the divine champion.

dyrwood sounds like dire wood, a part of the high forest near neverwinter where karsus' body crashed as a stone after the failed attempt to absorb mystryl's powers. this event interrupted the flow of the weave which drove the guardian of illefarn to the shadow weave, only to be transformed into the king of shadows. obsidian is back at nwn2 and the snake sucks its own tail... mystery solved.

No publisher yet has been chosen from WoTC/HASBRO correct? (To carry on with D&D computer games, excluding that MMO).

If they are doing a new RP game I hope they include some sort of editor like NWN/NWN2. I have more fun with those than the games.
