SW shops/houses - 2 votes
N house then W factory - 1 vote
Church - 2 votes

If people don't come to more of a consensus, I'm probably going to try and make everybody happy and cover all three options by breaching N house -> W factory -> church - SW shops/houses. Does that sound all right?

That would be even worse than just pointlessly going to church or factory right off. May as well just breach the police station now, we're almost guaranteed to lose someone before we get through all that and have a bad weapon and ammo status as dark falls. And I might go for that if we had some 5s on breach, hopeless or not, but we are a mediocre team for combat this time.

We need weapons, and we can't successfully, reliably breach anything yet but a house or store, and the weapons and ammo are mostly in the stores so let's go to a store. I only agreed to a house first to make someone happy but really who cares if an hour gets wasted? The time limit is never an issue if you get your crew into shape early on.

I would prefer the house north because it's near but if that's out of the question I'm going for some store, too.

Bingo! At least one person would die/get injured via breaching either the factory or the church, IMHO. But hey, all I want is to make ALL of you happy. :troll:

Yeah, who cares if an hour gets wasted? There's a house nearby, there probably aren't a lot of zombies there, so might as well breach it. At this point, the weapons we have are more than sufficient to take down an empty house. What do we lose? Nothing! And we might as well breach the houses on the way to the stores just because they're there, they might contain rescue clues, and good relationships are just as important to combat success as good weapons, especially in a weak group like this. Empty houses are easy pickings, especially on Day 1. It makes no sense to bypass all that and go straight for stores, let me tell you.

Oh, and by the way, Lindblum and lightbane, the church is only useful if you have a group that is hell bent on killing the fuck out of each other. It lowers the chances of (completely prevents?) a fight breaking out. So unless there was a holy weapons patch this upgrade, I'm not sure if it'll have what you seem to expect.

So, that's 3 votes for stores. Let's see... will N house -> SW shops/houses work for everybody? Or should we go straight to the SW houses?

I opened up Zafehouse diaries and while trying to learn the custom survivor system, used some pics from my hard drive:

I call it the Zombie Noir Wave

Rumour has it Pasolini directed a film that was outrageously popular with gay, middle class men.

Pwahaha, that's awesome! :bro:

After we search the house to the north, we proceed to the house left of the diner.

0rBXr.jpg

It takes us quite a while to get there.

zAwNg.jpg

We search the house below it and get the radio! Whee!

yJZlY.jpg

We assault the store to its left.

IsD1b.jpg

We breach it and find yet another rescue clue!

Pictured: Moribund and Alicia bonding over their necrophiliac tendencies.

UnltA.jpg

We assault the store next to it (it's the one in the southwest-most corner).

VHpYY.jpg

We breach it.

s4KGm.jpg

Then we assault and breach the store to the north, skipping over the factory.

LJwnt.jpg

Yugo continues to be a total badass by obliterating all the zombies he meets on patrol.

C0wrJ.jpg

When Utarefson finally wakes up, we move onto the house north of the shop.

BEXZk.jpg

We find yet another (nearly useless) rescue clue! Yay!

o11oP.jpg

Then we assault and breach the store northeast of our house.

XiPzj.jpg

All stores on the map have been breached and fully searched. And not a single wounded survivor! Whoo!

fqBlQ.jpg

Here's our loot. We also have 3 cooking ingredients and 13 snacks. The buildings with blacker outlines are the ones that we breached and searched.

wQyrl.jpg

Our rescue clues. We still need the frequency and the location.

UQJzv.jpg

All those rescue clues are making our team happy and well-disposed towards each other. Here are the bonuses we have right this moment:

Alicia +1 Tougher
Utarefson +1 Tougher +1 Smarter
Moribund +3 Tougher
Dick +3 Tougher

Where should we go from here? What should the team do?

This is going much too smoothly. They need to meet an armed band or a super-zombie or it'll get boring soon. :troll:

Don't worry, the devs added new special events with the latest patch. I really, really hope we get something none of us have ever seen before... upupupupu...

Or if you want things to get more exciting RIGHT THIS SECOND, we could just breach the police station bare-handed or something, I dunno. :troll:

Great update! We're doing very well but still need the most important clue.

Library or police station. Both well equipped and NOT barehanded! I'm for library first in the hope there are more clues. If we still don't know after that where the evac point is I'm for policestation, than Motel and bank.

I recommend we are going all together, no matter what.

I'm up for police station, but it will probably be a clusterfuck.

worth a try though. will wait to see what Moribund says.

The police station will always be a clusterfuck, no matter what. It's worth noting, though, that at this point you'll probably be as well-equipped as you'll ever be without breaching the police station (all the stores have been searched - the other buildings are unlikely to contain significant amounts of weapons/ammo). Note that also you currently have some decent bonuses on your characters, which will probably go away in a turn or two (I'm honestly not sure). It might be a smart idea to assault/breach the police station now, instead of using up your shotgun shells (you have only about 20 of them) and your bonuses on another location like, say, the library, which won't have the large amounts of guns and ammo that the police station will have.

Just my two cents :)

No-one messes with a chef so badass that he can effortlessly kill zombies with a golf club
I say we assault the Police station, using our best weapons and stuff to show these zombies how is it done.

I'm up for police station. We have some weapons and have been injury free so far so we have to do something to change that :D

After that maybe we can do factory and modify the hopefully awesome weapons we get there.

Our first assault on the police station goes well.

8b5Yt.jpg

I assault the police station a couple more times, but I didn't manage to screenshot it because, well...

8q220.jpg

Yep. That happened. We're in the middle of breaching the police station and are surrounded by zombies who might overwhelm us at any second. Somebody's most likely going to get injured just from the breaching (somebody might even die), and I won't have the chance to treat them because this will be resolved at the same time as the breaching. I don't know about you guys, but I'm not feeling very confident about this encounter...

Bad news: The game crashed, again.

Good news: My save's still intact.

I start again from the point right before we started assaulting and breaching the police station, and pretty much do the same thing. Assault, assault, assault. And then, as we get back to the store after an all right assault (there are at least 13 zombies left in the place), the same guy hunting the super zombie shows up at the store. Should we help him, or not? We're not currently breaching the police station, so we don't need to worry about fighting him injured, but most of us are tired or flagging. We have lots of handguns and ammo left, as well as baseball bats, but no shotgun shells. The upside of saying yes is that we'll get a high-powered rifle, which will make assaulting the police station much easier (since we have a few rifle rounds left in us). Or we could just say no and breach the police station directly - the upside of this is that we'll be doing it uninjured, whereas somebody is probably going to get injured (or maybe even killed) if we decide to help out the guy.

Send him away, although he will probably have a rescue clue as well as a high powered rifle.

What is our current team status vis injury and do location traps affect this encounter?

We are currently uninjured, and no, location traps do not affect this encounter as far as I know (they've been changed to affect the lynch mob encounter, though). Then again, the store we're in isn't trapped anymore, so the point is moot.

I'll wait around for a bit, and if no one objects, I'll go ahead and send him away.

I know I'm pussying out and Dick is a badass, but if we waste all our shotgun ammo on this shit, we might not be able to breach police station and then our assaults were a waste. Also the injuries/deaths that result from this encounter could prevent successful breach of police station and then it's just gg stuck without good weapons and possibly injuried/dying survivors.
