I'll just drop this here. I do think it is pretty cool.

A bit buggy that one, or should I say quite buggy.

Yes, it is a bit buggy indeed. Most of the stuff that does go hardcore with SKSE is. They are pretty much trying to fool the game and the engine into doing stuff they were never intended to do in the first place.

It is, however, the less buggy of the Airships... For what that's worth. :P

It's amazing how it took Bethesda a fucking decade to get their characters back to the aesthetics of Morrowind and it's still not as good as the default hairs are still plain ugly save for one or two choices, the second being bald.

So, dramatics aside, is there any proper hair pack that has a choice of hair styles that definitely belong to the game world and not to a fashion show? I searched some and sadly all the popular stuff is the ridiculous hair and knowing how some modders tag their work any potential hair mod I would like may be everywhere but not in the hair and face section. :(

EDIT: This dice stuff is fun.

Dude, only hair packs you will ever get are those with anime hairz, along with kawaii eyes mod.

Don't forget about the cat ears coming out on top of the head, this is essential when modding your character.

Meh, in the end I can just play as a lizard. Argonians are cool.

The best modelers are all doing the 'fashion show' ones. Those are also the ones all important modders do use for their races, companions, locations, etc. I do believe there is one or two 'lore friendly' hair packs but I did never try them myself.

Edit:

Don't forget about the cat ears coming out on top of the head, this is essential when modding your character.
Cat ears? No, no. That's old news. Loli catgirls is what's cool now. Asian modders did already manage to add Tera's Elin race in game with its own customized character editor, gameplay changes for most important game mechanics, and even modified lists that do add the race to all the spawned factions (imperial elins, stormcloak elins, bandit elins, etc) as well as turn several main characters into elins.

Get on with the times, man.

(The mod is so bloody complex you do need a detailed guide or a wizard script to add it and you will probably still mess up your game the few first tries.)

Well, I'll have to install them anyway as probably Maids 2 Deception mod that seem pretty awesome from what I've seen on youtube will require them. Thank you for information. :)

I'm going on the counterflow and giving Skyrim a roll again before Dragonborn DLC breaks the current mods. My current lineup is the following:
  • SkyUI (vital)
  • iHUD (cool, I hate the crosshairs and it removes popamole compass & enemy radar)
  • Alternate Start (usefull for skipping the massive intro and trying out new areas)
  • SkyRe (great mod, makes things a lot more challenging, melee combat is waaay better and the skill trees are completly new)
  • Immersive Armors (some very nice stuff, and blends well with SkyRe)
  • Cloaks (me gusta)
  • Winter is Comming Cloaks (me gusta mucho mas)
  • Deadly Dragons (vanilla dragons are just too easy to trick)
  • Climates of Tamriel (nice effects, makes dungeons & nights really dark)
  • Lanterns of Skyrim (cool in those dark nights)
  • Torches for Skyrim (since caves & nights require torches, so it's nice to have more of them around)
  • WATER (looks so much better)
Also, I use Project ENB, was the best ENB setting I tried out, and works very well with the Climates of Tamriel mod. Since my rig is medium-tier, I turn off SSAO and just keep the lightning alterations and depth of field, looks very good, doesn't look "milky" or a bloomfest, and without much of a fps impact:

I really wish I had a impressive rig to play fully modded Skyrim at max setting... :(

I did remember this armor and did though you guys may like the kind of Warhammer-ish style so there you go.

Check it here.

It does have some clipping, though.

That armor is literally stolen directly from The Witcher 2.

Played a bit with Requiem. Don't like it. It makes the game frustratingly slow-paced, and while the improvements to combat are good, the bloated HP bars it gives enemies makes it far less fun than the base game. Skill leveling also takes a really, really long time, especially early on when you have to pick and choose exactly who you fight. It works for Gothic because Gothic has environments and enemy scaling designed around that, but with Skyrim, not so much - you can't enter a ruin, stroll past a bandit camp or take on anything more than wolves without getting your ass handed to you, and enjoy doing that for 20 hours until your skills are decent enough. You're basically forced to steal huge amounts of loot from NPCs just to pay skill trainers, at least if you want to get leveled to the point where you can enjoy the game.

I dunno, Elder Scrolls has always been about exploration for me, not punishing combat. I would like its features more if the difficulty and enemy scaling tweaks were separate from the rest of the mod, it's just kind of masochistic otherwise, in a game that was never designed to be played that way.

Also, I want a lighting overhaul that doesn't make nights super-dark to the point of unplayability. As someone who has a TN panel LCD (a good one, but still TN) I find that most of those mods basically just force me to rest until morning all the time - which kinda sucks if you, say, play a vampire. If there was a night vision spell to get around it or something, that'd be cool, but all the default light spells are only good for a 10-20 foot radius.

I solved that with the Torches for Skyrim & Lanterns of Skyrim mods. I find good that I can choose to keep walking around on the roads at night, due the laterns, but if I decide to go off-track a torch is vital and I'll have to face the consequences of using one hand to carry it.

Except that torch radius is quite low by default. "Realistic" but not really fun for gameplay. Hmm.

I'll try your Climates of Tamriel mod. I was using Realistic Lighting, which did awesome things to the lighting, but made interiors and nights basically pitch-black, which I did not enjoy much.

I am sorry. I did not know that as I did not play that game.

It does kind of explain the quality though. All the armors from The Witcher 2 I did get for Skyrim are pretty good. It is kind of a shame they do not fit that much with the game's own style and that you do have to mod them in manually if you just want to replace a few armors with them.

On the difficulty I would not recommend to add mods that do raise the difficulty of the crap enemies too much. Do just use a few of the ones that do add new bosses, new world bosses, and do empower the dragons. Get the ones that do add new enemy types to the spawn lists (there is even one that does add werewolves as rare choices on the wilderness spawn lists, which mixed with the mods that do make nights really dark will scare the shit out of you at least once or twice) and do add new enemy factions as well: More enemy variety and more overworld dangers are cool. Trash enemies with ridiculous HP and damage are not. I do believe there is one that does add new bandit types to the spawns for example, another that does add roving bands of Redguard bandits and raiders, and there was one, but I do seem unable to find it again, that did add roving warbands from both the Stormcloaks and the Imperial Army that do fight each other and anyone who is not 'friendly' to their faction. For trash enemies it is better to add mods that do affect the core mechanics of the game, like a mod that does add extra effects and power to all poisons (which does make spiders much more dangerous for example).

In my experience, lightning mods make nights unbearable even with torches in the first person view. I'm running Climates of Tamriel right now and going third person makes everything better.

Inb4 Third Person TES sucks.

@ felipepepe:

Sure. :) Do give me a few days so I can finish setting everything up for my playthrough. I did just install Skyrim again a short while ago to play Dragonborn and am still trying to recover everything I did use to, well, use and find the right place for the new things I did get.

I do not even remember how to use Wrye Smash very well. :?

And are you interested in the, uhm, 'bad girl' mods I do use as well or do you just want the Codex compatible ones mentioned?

That sentence does conjure up images both titillating and most unladylike.

[edit]

And now it is gone, no doubt whisked away to a land of whimsy and wonder.

Jesus fuck the Steam Workshop is impossible to navigate. Everyone tags their projects with basically everything, and submits their mod in every category, instead of what's actually relevant, so any single search brings up a billion mods and then it's impossible to find what you want. Fucking hack attention whore modders.
