What's with the obsession with long limbed, gangly enemies now, From? Do they even lift?

I expect DSIII to be longer than Bloodborne just because it's their main multiplatform series, while Bloodborne was just a PS4 exclusive. It's also getting more DLC, two compared to Bloodborne's sole expansion. (though The Old Hunters was supposedly meant as two separate expansions that they combined, so we'll see about that) Either way DSIII should have more build variety and therefore replayability than Bloodborne, which was lacking in that department.

But seriously, Shadow Tower Abyss is From's best game. I was very surprised how good it was when I played it, which was only a couple years ago. Imagine Tower of Latria for almost the whole game, even darker and more oppressive. I was totally immersed. The first person melee combat sits at the just right intersection of fluidity and weight, simplicity and complexity, for a console game at least. I didn't die as much as I did in the Souls games, but it felt just as harsh. Never has a game had me more relieved to reach a save point, in a good way.

It it had come out on PC back in the 90s or early 2000s, I think it would be regarded as highly as immersive first person masterpieces like UU, DE, SS, T:TDP/TMA, Bloodlines. At least the next tier down.

I agree that King's Field IV is the best. Shadow Tower Abyss had great combat, but KFIV had the better dungeons - in fact some of the greatest world design to grace a modern RPG, and it's a Jap game to boot.

Indeed, they'd all be part of the Codex canon were they PC games. In a certain sense, though they're "streamlined", they are the true successors to Ultima Underworld.

My friend (who has on multiple occasions proven to have the worst fucking economy management since the greek government) decided to spend whatever is left of his recently recieved salary on the 110€ collector's edition. Meanwhile, the fuckboy has ~150 hours of playtime on a pirated copy of D:OS and refuses to buy a legitimate copy for 23€, because that shitty statue is obviously worth a lot more than supporting good devs right?

But what really triggers me is that the instant he gets his hands on money, he throws it away on redundant shit rather than helping out his mother who works shitty hours on a shitty job to be able to feed his entitled ass and give him a place to live. But hey, fuck showing gratitude to the person who brought you to life and on their own gave you a damn good upbringing despite shitty conditions and without ever failing to be a good role model, right? Fucking piece of shit singlehandedly makes me lose hope in mankind sometimes.

Anyways those first person PS2 games look neat, does mouse control work well for PCSX2?
Clearly you are in love with him. Come out of your closet.

Hey guys any news on the repair system? I disliked the system used in DS2 a lot

what did you dislike about it? that durability actually mattered and if you used weapons with crap durability you actually needed to have a backup, unlike DaS1 and DeS where it was something you could ignore completely?

I like the system form the earlier games where you fix your weapons yourself and it is not automatic. The DS2 system felt like a change for the sake of changing stuff; I dont remeber anybody saying "Hey I hate fixing my weapon" or something like that and the new system added a useless mechanic where you had to actively watch out for durability while you played and jeeping backups. The ability to switch weapons on the fly was good and it is something that encourages experimenting with rare weapons and combinations but not because your favorite weapon is worn out

what's the point of having durability in the game, if the only thing it does is getting you through an annoying "click click click" menu once every 20hours of gameplay if you use the weapon with the lowest durability? it's a meaningless mechanic to have if it's inconsequential, and it was inconsequential in every game bar DaS2 where it actually mattered. that they removed the menu option to manually repair weapons is an irrelevant change compared to durability actually having an actual fucking gameplay reason to be in the damn game

So in your opinion fixing weapons as in DS2 is better than not having the option at all since you consider it a shit mechanic? Perhaps but as others have noted it looks like it will go back to the older style which came back for bloodborne
