So almost as much as the budget for the original Fallout. Anyone have a clue about the engine they're gonna use? Everyone I know is curious.

I'd be impressed if anyone knew, since they don't actually know themselves. It's not a huge concern since the production is about content, so mostly they're looking for usability and a good licensing deal. That's the newest I know as of two days ago.

Awesomeness coming tomorrow.

Care to be a little more specific there Brother... ;)

Nah. We should be seeing more updates for WL2 for the final 10 days as they're going to focus on the closing curve to raise more money. So good stuff should be coming at a steady rate. Another Kickstarter update tomorrow, and it'll have something pretty small but that I think is p cool. Plus, tomorrow should see 'em hitting the Obsidian 2.1M goal, so that in itself is p awesome.

They should make a vid with MCA in it... When they reach 2.1... It would certainly "spark interest"...:bounce:

Yeah, this thing has added around another $100,000 in two days? Dang! They also have a new International VAT-free digital option so our friends across the pond won't get raped by your insane tax system!

I just noticed that,it's like Fargo read my mind and understood my worries about a getting a physical copy, customs,VAT and all that crap.

Kicking it forward seems to be gaining exponential momentum too. Sure, there are plenty of turds on there, but the general consensus is still overwhelmingly positive. I wouldn't be surprised if years from now Fargo gets more credit for this Kickstarter phenomenon than Schaffer. The entire buzz is bringing insane amounts of exposure to Wasteland 2 and now it's even an outside possibility that it will surpass Double Fine's $3.4mil. I still gotta stick with my original prediction of $2.6mil though.

One thing I'm still hoping for (against hope, sadly) is that they manage to somehow get Jason Anderson back from Turtle Rock Studios, he'd deserve it after all the time and effort he put into the project. Well, that and the comeback of the toaster repair skill (which may well be included in the $15 tier reward anyway).

I'd imagine at this point he'd at least be involved in consultation either via phone or email. We can hope.

Makes me wonder if it does get close to Double Fine's total if people won't up their pledges to "beat" the 3.3m mark. May sound silly but have you read some of the comments on the Kickstarter page? At every milestone it's like a basketball game with everyone cheering on and it feels very competitive. The mob mentality may take over and it's not about funding a game anymore but let's show how "our funding total will beat that other guys funding total."

Even though an RPG really should have more budget than an adventure game, I don't think it'll get that far. The adventure game genre + doublefine in the house assured itself some overall success from old school gamers in general because it was a dying genre and you had tim and ron together on it. Plus nobody really bitches about not having third person/first person view in an adventure game, the industry hasn't gotten its bullshit rebranding claws on the genre prior to this.

Now with wasteland 2 you have a lot more people turned away because wtf isometric and turn based that's not how you do old school rpgs like skyrim these days man.

I don't think it will get to 3m myself but my hypothesis was that IF it got close for many it would be more about "beating" Double Fines total not about the game itself. Psychology is a funny thing M:
