McDermott stated the RTS sequel "is going to have a much larger strategic component to it, more of a global battle going on with little tactical things, sort of MMO-like".
Ouch.

ouch what?

TO me that sounds like a good thing if done right.

Some singleplayer gameplay.
Thunderhammer is "quite epically awesome" and makes "Mjölnir look like a child's toy"?

I hope you're right. I'm just weary of MMO mechanics being emulated in a non-MMO game.

here are my thoughts as the video unfolds

man that pauldron in my face when he's aiming is going to get old

what the hell is that a space marine performing a dodge roll

no regeneration, but gain health from performing executions - ehhh we'll have to see

instantaneous switching to melee weapon and swinging, invulnerable during grab finishing moves looks like - I'll give that a pass for now

melee hits look nice and meaty but I hope the slowdown can be turned off or minimised

non regenerating unlimited ammo, having to choose between equipment loadouts, all in order here

graphics are actually pretty good and less DoW2 importfest than previously thought

the stun length for that hammer looks a bit too much

level looks nice and open in that 'serious sam large area after large area' sense, nowhere near ssam's scale but decent

oh boy fury mode aka rage of the gods 40k

okay this is way too mindless, all he's doing is fighting trash ork mobs that he dispatches by straightforward shooting, crashing down on with the jetpack or bashing away with the hammer, chaos comes in afterwards so that might change, but right now they can barely hurt him, seem to rush him two at a time at most and I'm pretty sure I saw a flash git shot him point blank and it somehow didn't do anything

nice meaty hits doesn't matter if I see it five hundred times in a row on the same enemy with no consequence to it

getting quite annoyed by all the glowy explosions and effects each time he kills something

oh boy wryd boys being used as an excuse to teleport in orks right in front of you, I bet later for chaos it's the warp teleporting in dudes for you to pop

the scale of the combat is kinda crap, solo man army thing against that many orks makes this look like imperial propaganda: the game

verdict: watching this video will probably give you the full experience and put you off a lot from buying it

Hopefully they bring in Chaos earlier rather than later. I've seen some gameplay of the Bloodletters that show them teleporting around and having more difficult AI than the trash Ork mobs. I agree the Orks seem way too easy.

Dragon Age 2 with guns?

Nah it looks a little more interesting, but you could replace the orks with dildos and get more personality and variety.

thats how you kill Chaos Space Marines kids, bow to the power of the B - button. can someone make a GIF for this like with the DA2 A - button ?

also the AI also seem particullary awful even for that kind of game(then again relic s AI always sucked)

shame, i thought it had potential when they said "no cover, no health regen" but this looks even worse than cover & health regen.

Well, just pirate it like everyone that values their money. It must be worth at least for a single playthrough.

Is this EvilSatan upping his post count in game forums to make us think he's a legit poster and not Schattenjager & co?

Trust me, i've accepted the fact that everyone here will always think I am Bryce/Schattwhatever/liberal etc. I'm just letting my displeasure towards Space Marine be known.

Seriously, barely any gore, bodies instantly disappear after you kill them, enemies don't recoil when you shoot them, Spam B for awesome gameplay.

What was the last game that was a decent representation of what goes on in the Wh40k setting?
Space Hulk 2? Chaos Gate? Final Liberation?

After that there was a constant spam of abstractfag games that don't represent anything.

Chaos Gate was so good, pity it's less stable than PtD.

This topic is now about Chaos Gate. thx.

Final Liberation was pretty great, too.
