Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
To echo some past comments, I agree that they didn't learn anything from the TL1 feedback re: difficulty levels. Veteran is okay but rarely is any competent player at risk of dying. Elite suffers a bit too much from health bloat which -- combined with the higher damage output -- makes for a fairly tedious experience. There's basically no point in trying to be a 'Tank-gineer' or any kind of tank character. Anything lower than Elite and you don't need one and, on Elite, you'll just get curb stomped regardless of how many mitigation talents you have. Moreover, your damage will be so weak nothing will die.

Also, yes, the 'boss chests' are pointless. 90% of the time you just get a green and some gold.

What did you play? All my characters so far are in considerable danger of getting gang raped on veteran. I have to kill monsters without them touching me or I drop like a fly. Only tried a melee shield engineer so far but she's not far in and I'm not impressed with her survivability either.

On Veteran I played a Berserker through Act 2. I guess the constant 100% crit bar helped a lot. I don't really recall every being in any immediate danger of dying such that I needed to proceed with extreme caution. The Luminous arena was challenging but nothing like it was on elite.

You and Cutter John in the comic have one thing in common: you're both cripples. Although he's a physical cripple and you're a mental one. Just an example when you claim the areas are no larger:

253B347AE3F3AF6B3DC6BF2E18B192DB63E2A162

It's fine to have an opinion, just don't talk out of your ass for the sake of looking cool on the internet.
ooo... lottsa railroading, neways game is still nothing fucking new, same old Fate shit yet again.

I'll be well and TRULY shocked once INSPIRATION strikes Travvy down and his fanbois FOAD in apoplexy... sadly it hasn't happened yet. Same shit, same game, slightly larger areas, and you're showing overland maps v. dungeon maps BTW.

...well and I was HIGHLY UNIMPRESSED with TL1 10h "campaign" unless you decided to jerkoff collecting random "sets" and FUCKLOADS of cracked/etc. addons [EDIT] AND/OR fucking playing fishing "mini-game" OR the "gambling" "mini-game" (anyways I digress) [/EDIT] to make perfect ones to impres your no-life friends at yer perseverance...

i.e. the ONLY reason for BIGGER is their MULTIPLAYER, o.w. it's *wow* WHAT a SURPRISE more of the same shit...

(Yes, I was sucked into KoA: Teh Reckoningzes, played TQ, and have pre-ordered Grimm Dawn, however the latter two are LIGHT years BEYOND TL(1 and/or 2), although I wuill admit that ATM GD is railroading v. random railroading for MP areaz, stilll...)

Why are you so butthurt about this issue, cutterjohn? You've been repeating the same thing for like three pages now.
Probably because I'm not a fanboi and the fucking maps are egregiously INCORRECT... the actual play maps ARE TEENY TINY... I just started it again and wow every 5m there's a NEW warp portal... WTF the is your interest eh?

Frankly even the krappy KoA had larger maps, hell most games in thelast 10y have had larger maps unless you do what the one poster did and aggregate all the subsections into one big map...

Game sucks. It's Fate yet again for the fucking umpteenth time with the same old gameplay... [EDIT] ...oh, and I forgots this time with MP of some sort... [/EDIT]

[EDIT2]
BTW the game area map that tyou published "looks" to be large, but in reality it's made up of MANY SMALL subsegment maps v. ALL of that being ONE PLAYABLE map, so go fuck yourself... it's a horizontal dungeon level v. vertical... big fucking whoop-de-do...
[/EDIT2]

Maybe you just had a brain seizure or something so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt but the more you post the dumber you sound.

Him aside, one small thing I like is how they change title screens with various game engine rendered vignettes. My favorite one so far:

How could I be 'butthurt' when your point makes no sense? You realize any map in any game is arguably made up of 'tiny areas.' They do that in TL2 for -- wait for it -- randomization which is a key design element in pretty much any hack-n-slash loot grinder. Once upon a time you used to be a decent poster, now you're just a moronic troll with your fake edits and borderline illiterate scrawl. At least Morgoth comes across as somewhat intelligent.

Well, I'll be ENTIRELY shocked when I see that overland map randomized... it hasn't been so far, and they're still teeny tiny areas... and oh shock the same fucking areas load up identically every single time or the randomization is such shit that they may as well be the same.

And oh BTW fanboi, get over yer butthurt... it's fucking Fate the Umpteenth plus MP with the same shitty gfx and gameplay.

[EDIT]
Oh, I forgot:
Go fanboi, go!
[/EDIT]

[EDIT2]
To the adult codex, it's the same semi-shit casual ARPG that it always was, although IF you want MP you MAY have fun with it...
[/EDIT2]

[EDIT3]
...I've been working on teh railroad all teh livelong day...
[/EDIT3]

So many things to criticize if you want to, why the fuck would you use one not even remotely true like mapsize.
I's also completely irrelevant, not like the huge ass zones were more fun than the smaller dungeon levels.

The lack of closed Battle.net is kinda bummy. It makes perfect sense for them to not include it, given their company size, and given how Steam framework allows some kind of witchy port mapping that doesn't require forwarding ports on router level anymore, but it is essentially Open Battle.net .

Which means... either you play with people you trust, in passworded games... or don't play online at all.

Many people on Runic forums seems to bitch about fusiladeso I decide to avoid the skill. Just using blast cannon and robots. So far so good, playing on elite with a friend. There were some parts in chapter 2 where we got raped due to small areas and not being able to move around but overall it's going ok.

Does anyone know what happens after you beat the game directly on elite?

The difficulty level you beat it on doesn't factor into your options -- beat it on any difficulty and you get the options for (as mentioned) NG+ (and then NG ++ NG+++ etc.) or you can go to the map room which is a hybrid of the infinite dungeon and the map vendor in TL1: basically you buy maps to 2-3 floor dungeons some of which have random modifiers like X% more magic find, do X% more damage but monsters have Y% resistance, health, damage, etc. Moreover I believe you can rerandomize those variables when you're actually inside. I've only done one so I'm not sure if it's true for all but each probably has a modified 'true boss' at the end. That is, not just a champion, but one of the proper bosses. I had a modified General Grell that had some kind of weird stationary shackle buff and he seemed to consistently spawn champions every thirty seconds or so (in the end I was fighting him and like three champions at the same time).

The level cap is 100 so not a huge amount to do after that unless you want to farm for legendaries (they only drop in NG+ or higher) or loot in general. Still, it's a ton of content for $20.

New game plus. Replaying with leveled up enemies and the fattest of loots.

Also STILL getting my ass handed to me on the djinni circle of light quest on veteran. Died probably 10+ times on it so far. Those archers just destroy me, I'm way too glassy I guess. Even tried raising my poison resist as much as I could given they seem to be doing poison damage, but it didn't help much. Kinda weird since I was advancing at a steady clip until this point.

Veteran Mage: lvl16.
Number of any points spent: 0.
Running around tornadoes right now. Shooting at DPS*0,33.
Is this shit gonna get any better or did I again spent several hours of my valuable life on total fucking garbage?

No idea what you're trying to say.
