Was the new Lara in fact modeled off Angie Varona?

So this is Lost but with Lara and bunch of filthy dudes who have not seen a chick in the last ten years?

It's basically what happens when a 20 yo registers on the codex and introduces herself.

Seems to be hip these days to ride the "arrow to the knee" meme.

With all those "Dodge Count" perks, she later becomes an unstoppable killing machine giving "finishers" and brutal headshots to people left and right, 2 meter tall men in heavy metal armor and dozens of undead fully armored samurai warriors alike.

I also like how the game has some sort of Surf Solar alike. Whiny nerd guy who secretly wants in Laras pants and does stupid shit to get her attention, gets later an hero-ed. All the while Lara only cares about her girlfriend whom she seems to have a huge boner going on for, (feeling seems to be mutual). It's also funny how the only staff/cast members that get killed are men. Not a single women gets killed, I feel discriminated omfg!

Yes and before that concept art and details were released when it was originally going to be a very different project. It was originally about lara marooned on a Japenese island that she could explore. The island was inhabitad by strange creatures from japenese folklore. It was open world with metroidvania elements and it would have had a survival horror slant.

Then somewhere along the way they decided to just make an uncharted clone

Wait wait wait wait wait wait... is that true?.

So it seems my PS2 controller doesn't fully work with the goddamned game, the right axis joystick is completely dead. Anybody got it to work ?

Best weapon upgrade is still the mouse, I finished the game using always the pistol, headshotting my way through the horde of rapers.
I have my trusty controller for this kind of game, but I found it play really well even on K + M. Well, beside the fucking QTE, but those suck regardless.

Your controller is fighting the popamolitis. Why are you forcing its mouth into the filthy anus of next-gen games?

First screenshot - Dead Space meets Tomb Raider
Second - we Like Silent Hill and Fear.

Still, it would be interesting to see original vision in action.

Check the link Bahamut provided:

To be more specific, your PS2 controller is probably trying to use the DirectInput drivers which are no longer supported by modern PC games. This leads to buttons not working properly, especially analogue triggers etc. Either you use software like the one above or you get a new controller that supports XInput (all the new Logitech ones do and they are pretty close to PS2 controllers in terms of looks and feel).

The sheer fact you are even using a controller should tell you something. :obviously:
Why? Many games that rely on third-person control are better suited to gamepads than keyboard/mouse. If precise aiming is not a big deal in a game then analogue sticks can be much more precise and natural-feeling to use. I don't see it as a black mark against any game. "Consolitis" doesn't really come down to whether it plays best with a controller or keyboard/mouse, but to design choices that are meant to appeal to mass audiences over all else.

Tomb Raider has always been a console-focused third-person puzzle/platforming series, it's not like only now is it suddenly starting to "decline" if that's your criteria for it.

Precise aiming required or not, I'm terribly uncomfortable with using a gamepad for aiming. I just can't take the lethargy of control.

Thanks for the info bros, I'll see if that x360ce tool helps.

I was gonna use keys/mouse, but after reading here that it works much better with a gamepad I went for it.

I can't imagine aiming for headshots being that fun with a gamepad. On the other hand, perhaps the game would get more challenging. That's only "better" thing I can imagine about using gamepad for this game, otherwise KB/M works great.

Yeah, what is this shit about controllers making QTEs easier too? There are only 5 keys you ever need to use in QTEs, all within the WASD vicinity. How is that hard?
