Because the game did not adhere 100% to this one man's vision of what Fallout was, the game was no longer a Fallout game. Because various concessions were made to the loot and environment in order to keep the game playable and fun, it was a betrayal. Oh no, unlooted first aid boxes! No, it wouldn't make sense for such things to survive in Fallout's world, but it's a videogame, and it has to function like one, which is something that these so-called fans seem to forget.
So, it wouldn't make sense for such (and many other) things to be in Fallout's world, but it says Fallout right there on the box, so it's clearly a Fallout game! Case closed.

U don't understand, Bethesda makes clever addictions to the formula :troll:

That was specifically what I took issue with. I will replay FO or FO2 any day. I think I called him a harbinger of decline in the other thread this article came up in.

So it's up for pre-order now at $40, which is basically bargain basement price these days. Releases February 28th, so they must really be rushing this to the door. Still can't express my feelings about this series becoming the poster child for decline so blatant that even Kotaku thinks it's going to be shit.

Here is an idea for a counter-article, "newcomers to a series need to shut up about wanting everything to be modern streamlined"
I'd rather called it '//We are tired of eating shit'
('//' for comment in coding, which does nothing to the actual code, what means that our opinions are still pretty much ignored).

Part of me dies whenever I find out people arguing for reboots and how good one in question is eventually, after many pages of discussion, admit they never actually played the original game(s) and essentially have no point of reference. It basically boils down to GRAFIX and "game plays itself is modern so it must be good".

You know, I still remember myself hoping that 'future games will eventually combine complex gameplay with awesome graphics'.
Man, I was a fool.

Complexity singularity did not happen. Hell, even graphix singularity is far from coming.

It's an upcoming AAA on sale. Game could be a screen saver called Shit In My Mouth, Eidos and it would make it in the Top Sellers for a few days. Not a high mark to clear.

It's also enough to use as decent tinder. Probably more entertainment value for your dollar too.

Thief fan: "Can you actually ghost the whole thing?"

Eidos guy: "By ghosting you mean, like going through walls and stuff?"
