RR won't be raped because it is so politically and socially offensive, noone will touch it. We can't make fun of them Texas Rednecks afterall.

I'd actually think that RR would be the first one they would make if going off of stereotypes alone. Game devs and journalists would probably find it a lot easier to mock those misogynistic, racist, backward rednecks.

Serious Sam is still good game. Replaying the first one solo on serious difficulty is hell of a fun. You need to be careful because the monsters have extra damage and there is more encounters, especially when you find some secrets. I remember playing it last year in co-op. When I'm done with it I'll try soloing the Secound Encounter the same way. The last level will be an epic slaughterfest.

It wasn't even ok for what it was. Blood 2 was terrible. Shit. Atrocious. Three times I tried playing it, at different stages in time, and three times I ragequit in disgust.

I don't care who agrees or disagrees with me. The point of my post was to tell you why I, a HUGE Doom fan from many years back, will not be supporting the new game.

Granted, I don't know how much story is in it, nor do I really are. That was not my main point, and I made it clear I was just going by what I SAW, not what I PLAYED.

What I SAW, after several hours of research, was not something I particularly liked, at all.

I feel that this is going to be a very forgettable game in the long run. Not an all-time classic like the originals.

I gave you reasons why. Level design is far superior in the original games and much more memorable. Enemies didn't just magically appear out of thin air in a locked room where you had to just mindlessly kill wave after wave of them. That is not Doom to me.

Doom, you press a switch in some dark, shady corridor, and, Oh, shit! A wall opens on each side of you with a loud noise and 2 cacodemons are in the wall, right in your face! Usually by this time I've already messed in my pants when I pressed the switch and the loud "VRRRRHHHH" noise happened and the walls flung open. :)

If you like what they did with the new Doom, great, good for you. Enjoy. I will just play the originals on Hurt Me Plenty and above and have fun with them instead of the new game.

Which again, should be called Hellspawn: Demonslayer. Not Doom. :)

Halfway through nightmare now.

There are a few things that I would change that would elevate nu-doom from an OK game to a great game:

- you should be able to take damage when glory killing. This makes glory kills rarer, and stops you from spamming it whenever you're about to die. I glorykilled some zombie right before getting flamethrowerd by a mancubus, which allowed me to stand in the fire for a few seconds completely invincible until the animation ended.
- chainsaw should just be a normal weapon. the instakill cinematic chainsaw is just awful.
- maps that are more mazelike and less linear

The soundtrack is the best part of the game, though.
Not that it has much competition.
:M
Anyway, the original Blood soundtrack is far superior. :obviously:

Blood 2 had some cool levels as well. Airplane one comes to mind. Either way, Shogo came out much better. Not sure what compelled them to develop two shooters at once.

I have no intention of playing this game, I'd just like to say that the soundtrack is fucking awesome and I hope the composer gets much bigger roles than his previous resume after this. BFG divison, oh lawdy.
