"I wish there was some kind of crafting material storage..."
There is, actually. And not only that, but you can right click on crafting materials to add them to your collection and they'll be transported to your bank instantly.
Good to know.

"I wish there was an easier way to sell things..."
You can sell things at the trading post from anywhere by right clicking the item and going to sell at trading post. You only need to head to the trading post to buy things, and collect what your items sold for.
wish i had known this before...

Sadly the trading post was broken in the last round of beta. I really missed that :(

Nice to know I can send crafting materials in my bags directly into my bank with a click though

Yeah, and I bought some things through it. But sometimes it would say "service unavailable" or something like that.

How is melee in this game? Kinda heard like it's hard since you need to be dodging in an out all the time when fighting tougher stuff so everyone was going ranged instead.

So far mêlée is kinda tough. You'll be receiving massive damage and will fall most of the time if you're not extremely careful, I guess it's going to be a bitch to balance that, maybe giving more defense to the front line builds because it just wasn't worth it when fighting some of the bosses. Of those I fought, they had one skill that would instakill everybody around him, I guess it was meant to be dodged, but with the clusterfuck that gathered there it was hard to spot when they were going to use that skill.

Tough but enjoyable. I'd hope for a bit of melee buffing though, either in damage or survivability in some way (faster vitality regen?) but I definitely enjoyed it, especially the few fights where I managed to get through without taking a single hit. That feels good mang.

Hey all. I wanted to talk about this a bit since it is a hot topic here and also on the internets. The intention is that both styles are viable. Certainly right now Melee is more difficult than ranged. There are some things we will try to do to address this, but I think the more you play you would find they are closer than you think.

First what’s already there:
1) Melee does more damage. Melee damage is simply higher than ranged damage across the board.
2) Melee has more control. With a few intentional exception Melee has a lot more control than ranged.
3) Champions hit too hard.
4) Melee attacks are longer range and wider arc than you might suspect to compensate for latency.
5) Camera distance might not change, but we have considered moving the position a bit to help with visibility.

What Melee needs:
1) defensive tools on more weapons, particularly on lower armor professions.
2) ai needs to favor Melee a bit less than it currently does.

What else:
Finally because of the more action based nature of combat Melee needs to be taught better. Effective Melee requires skills that translate over from FPS games which are notoriously harder on casual players. You have to wasd to move, constantly aim with your mouse camera, and hit skills on 1-5.

Some tips:
If you have learned any good Melee tips that you think we should pass on to newer players feel free to post them here. I’ll start with a few tips of my own.

- If you don’t have mouse look on when using a skill you will turn to face. I sometimes let go of mouse look as I activate to help me aim through the chaos and then click it back down in between attacks.

- Melee has a lot of hard hitting skills and good setup. Utility skills Can really help set up big Melee attacks. Bulls charge on warrior, scorpion wire on thief, judges intervention on guardian.

- Know when to run. No matter what you are not a tank. You have to move in and out avoiding damage. If you have to soak damage try and bring boons like Protection and Regeneration or conditions like Blindness and the very undervalued Weakness.

Thanks for reading this all. Rest assured we will keep working on this and just keep in mind the subtle differences in GW2 combat that take a while to sink in.

I think some more defensive tools would be a good idea. Like a block skill that you can activate more often, like the Mesmer scepter evade.

Bros, a friend of mine has a problem with prepurchasing GW2, he's outside the EU/US zone, and on the list of prices, the price initially shows him at 60 Kwabux, but then when he starts entering info, it switches the price to 55 eurobux. What gives and how to overcome this, any bro with any idea?

I assume he is trying to buy from the official site, if so let him try buying from g2play or some other site that deals only with serials.

Yeah, he's trying there, and he'd prefer staying on the official site if at all possible. Do you have a good experience with g2play and the likes?

I had same problems when I tried to buy TOR on the official site, so I went to g2play, got a serial and had no problems with it.
