October Update

Hello, friends!

Today, we decided to conduct a little experiment by making a short video about what we’ve been up to over the past month. What do you think of this format? Would you prefer us to make the next update in a similar fashion, or do you think a text format would be better? Let us know in the comments!

Stay as awesome as always,
Yours faithfully,
Atom Team

There is plenty of content that would be much better as text but this is literally only one and a half minute and mostly about showing the WIP art FFS. Video is fine for this.

Great demo! Charming vibe of old-school fantasy. Sort of nice to play something not post-apocalyptic or grimdark (but not boring old Faerun or Pathfinder either). I liked playing as a strong but boorish nobleman.

Graphics and UI are great. Combat had a good level of challenge but we really need more to do with our action points then hitting or running in and out of combat like a headless chicken (engagement rules could be nice). Where are our fast attacks/heavy attacks/aimed attacks etc? This could be tough with the dual turn-based/rtwp thing you seem to have planned..

It's a shame because I've always been curious to see the Fallout 1/2/ATOM combat system ported to a fantasy setting. Age of Decadence/Dungeon Rats did it very entertainingly.

I've watched the interview with the Joe and Hannah games with Matt Barton today and they're talking about the pack mule from the Dungeon Siege.
This reminded me that I'd love for Swordhaven to have it's pack mule.

So after making a crappier version of Fallout with ATOM now they are going to do the same with Baldur's Gate? Is nothing sacred.. what is next? New Diablo 1 type game from them?

Either you support the new games inspired by the classics or you have no new games to play. I love Fallout but it didn’t stop ATOM from also being good.

Are you brown by chance? Low energy post. You completely lack the Faustian spirit present in white men.

ArchAngel Do not despair. The demo for this game is enjoyable and has the right principles. It felt very good and will clearly only get better with iteration through their development process. This game has great promise.

Go back to your mommy kid. I have zero problems replaying good old games instead of bad new games that try to market themselves on backs of good games. I am sorry that your brain is so badly matured you could play the soulless shit that was ATOM.

Yeah, ATOM was a completely soulless turd, having nothing to offer except “wot if Fallout in USSR”. It looked terrible on top of that. One must lack a part of brain to enjoy it.

Yet with this one it’s not yet clear whether it’s going to follow the steps of their first game. Well, except for a couple of red flags like the dev still not acknowledging ATOM is a cheap imitation.
