I died a little inside watching that. It's even worse than I thought it would be.

Fart jokes: check. Turd jokes: check. Mr. Slave shoving things up his asshole: check. 100% post-decline unfunny attempt-to-be-outrageous South Park faggotry: double check.

If you can watch that shit and actually want to buy it, there is something seriously wrong with your taste in RPGs that can't be cured by a marathon Fallout/PST/Arcanum gaming session.

(Bonus point for Cartman being the Grand Wizard though. That's....strangely appropriate.)

Heh, did you expect some philosophical epic with Trey and Matt writing for the game? :P

No, but expecting them to be funny would not be an unreasonable demand. They have not been funny for about a decade. South Park today is preachy, smug and has an overabundance of graphic depictions of shitting, fucking and violence, which is intended to shock but only manages to bore the piss out of anybody with a mental age above five.

It used to be funny. It used to be clever. It was even occasionally thought provoking and subtle. Now it just sucks and NOTHING in that video suggests otherwise.

Never really watched the show myself (a few minutes here or there a long time ago), and I didn't expect anything highbrow to appear in the game given who was writing it. You were setting yourself for disappointment by thinking otherwise.

Watch out, you might cut yourself. You are the edge!

You know that back in the days, when SP "used to be funny, and clever" it still had scenes like those in the trailer. Shitting, farting etc. So you can't say looking at the trailer that it will be shit. Tell me what did you see in the trailer that weren't in the show back then?

 Namedropping the holy trilogy just to score some KKK, makes you look like a pretentious asshole.

I agree that South Park is shit, tho.

I chuckled at Family Guy a few times, and American Dad as well, and I find Futurama to be really good.

South Park, however, no. I dislike the gimmick of it, and I never found it even remotely funny. All it had were the countless references.

Would've thought the underage crossdressing (Kenny) would put this game right in the Codex's alley. Are we really just discovering that a South Park game is going to have South Park level toilet humour?

I don't know how funny it's going to be, and I don't really watch South Park religiously or anything, but one thing it's not is highbrow.

Depending on the price, I might pull a Morgoth. #obsidrone

The price is going to be €49,99 at least for sure. Waiting for a sale, unless the Codex consensus is gonna wow me.

The game is going to have zero replayability. I'll let my unofficial beta tester (my friend's 9-year-old kid) get tired of it first.

Having chipped in for Eternity, a game where 100% of the money will go to Obsidian, I can safely not care about buying South Park till a cheap enough sale, especially seeing as Obsidian gets none of the sales money either. I mean it looks decent enough, but not worth full price (then again, what is these days?)

So $5-$10 steam sale it is.

Jesus Fucking Christ, you're letting a 9-year-old watch South Park?

Well, that'll be one interesting social experiment...

Parenting has apparently gone to hell since I was a child

I will still buy it day1, even if Obsidian doesn't see a penny from it. If a game sells well, Obsidian gets good rep among the publishers, and in generally in the industry.

I still have trouble figuring out how the gameplay in this is supposed to work. Have they shown UI shots? What items, stats and skills can I utilize? Is the whole world just gonna be a 2D slideshow? Are they fucking kidding me to demand full price for an iPad game?

Yes it's kinda strange that they haven't shown any gameplay, where you see the UI, the stats, the dialogue.

I thought it was said the gameplay was supposed to be similar to the Paper Mario games,I haven't played one of them so I can't comment on that.Still possible Day-1-purchase™ for me if THQ doen's implode before they release it

This makes no sense. Even if it was right that political consumption worked like this, you'd also show the world that people are willing to pay full price for a shitty, simplistic movie-game and that that's what people should use companies like Obsidian for.

If it bombs then that proves Obsidian can't even do this right and no one ever wants to hire them again, massive layoffs ensue, Eternity is canceled because Feargus can't pay the bills. :P

Also it's not like people in the past didn't pay full price for the non-handheld Mario RPGs. This has that gameplay plus reputation mechanics and seemingly more customization.

SP should really be right down codex's alley: smug, making fun of everything, completely obscene, inappropriate and indecent. And, as if only to prove my point, kkkodex hates it.
