Looks bad visually. Something about the lighting is very off, makes it look unrealisitc, plasticky. Literally reminds me of Doom 3 lighting. No astmosphere, just being generic and modernvideogamey. The original Stalker made me feel like I'm in Eastern Europe, Stalker 2 makes me feel like I'm in Unreal Engine 5.

My main concern is whatever they will actually deliver "weird" part of the zone. Most of "weird" stuff in the zone was established in Stalker 1 and next games barely did anything with that. I don't even remember and new weird stuff.

If this will be another wow electric field. wow gravity field, wow "copy pase stalker 1 stuff" and provide nothing new i might just as well skip it. Because weirdness was the most interesting part of stalker for me.
They'll likely add more mutants, but I have doubts about things like psychological/existential weirdness. If anything, the cutscenes seem to be made for young players of average intelligence.

That encounter with the C-consciousness in Shadow of Chernobyl was pretty good and unnerving.
This Stalker 2 cutscene/cinematic shit is way too Metro-like.

I love the voice of the Wish Granter in Russian, Tvoya tsel zdes. Idi ka mne. Hearing the voices in Ukrainian sounds lame af. I played Radiophobia 3 in Ukrainian since it's the only one available and the whole experience was brought down a notch. It's like Polish, only worse, and Polish is already like sandpaper against your ear lobes.

Although I speak neither of these language, this is just based on how cool they sound to a non-speaker. Russian has that extra flair that makes it sound cool.

One of the devs recently posted on the Steam forum that there are hallucinations. Also the end of this video has ghosts or something.

This part made me cautiously optimistic:

"...after defeating the creature and retrieving the artefact, I received a "mission failed" notification. Excuse me, Stalker 2, but don't you mean "mission succeeded"? I soon found out the game was in the right, as upon returning to Squint’s hidey-hole, I discovered that he was dead.
I'm still not entirely clear what happened, whether a mutant or bandit had rocked up and killed him, whether Squint had accidentally triggered one of the many traps he'd set up to defend himself from such an ambush, or whether this was a good old fashioned bug. I asked the developer supervising the session if this was supposed to happen, to which he shrugged, explaining that Squint was not a particularly important character."

I see dogs are just as stupid as in the originals so that's one thing that grognards can't complain about.
The flashlight is quite possibly even worse than in the originals, impressive.

I remember getting ambushed by packs of pseudodogs a couple of times, some try to get you from behind.
Really nasty, especially during the night.

Tik-tok camwhore stalkers in full make up is what this game needs for realistic representation of females in the zone.

I'm pretty sure there's an NPC in Witcher 3 modelled after this guy. At least the other brother tried to look cool.

Where are the zone hotties?
Anomaly added a single female stalker in the rookie camp. She kills you if you accidentally pick a completely innocent dialogue option that she thinks is misogynistic.

But it's very funny to start as a bandit or merc and sneak into the rookie camp to rape murder her with a hatchet.

From the new footage the underground locations lighting looks really bad, weren't they supposed to be using Lumen? Weren't there (outdoor) shots showing it off? There is zero light bounce in those underground sections, shit is pitch black outside of direct light sources.

Are you sure it's because of the language and not because of the voice acting (intonation, delivery, actor's voice)?

I don't think I've ever played anything in Ukrainian, but regarding Polish/Russian (and other languages like German) it usually was up to specific actors rather than language used. I've heard plenty of examples where Polish was better than Russian and vice versa.

Are you sure it's not your personal prejudices influencing your reception? Don't be a retard, don't allow inferior emotions overtake your worldview.

Nah, the entire game was in Ukrainian, and it sounded lame af, it's definitely not the actors. Also tried playing Witcher in Polish, it sounded like a parody.

But I enjoyed playing Gothic in German and Metro games in Russian, so maybe I'm just a bigot. Anyway, it's fun hating on things, don't get so butthurt.

Hip is one the most retarded additions to anomaly. Just for western coomer stalkers to fap to something because they can't play otherwise. Though she looks like shit unmodded and sticks out like a sore thumb even in her bulky armor with face mask.

Her quests are absolute trash too. Find gun, find some artifacts, find one of the rarest spawning artifacts in existence etc. Then comes some sob story about her getting gang raped by weed fags from Freedom. Never played to that part because she died in my game due to psy storm so i couldn't experience the entirety of her amazingly written character. And i never found that artifact anyway. Good riddance.

Just saw the PC gamer write up about the demo.

Sounds like Stalker...for the most part. The twink writing the article never played the originals and apparently somehow got bored AND overwhelmed at the same time.

The thing did mention that there was a quest marker and plenty of medkits in what he played. I would imagine he was on the lowest difficulty and that marker shit is on a toggle

There is something to what you are used to and how it sounds to you based on which language is your mother tongue, I suppose. Especially in slavic languages, but I guess also in other "language bubbles".

Me being Polish and knowing Russian, I have no problem with games voice acted in Russian and Ukrainian (albeit Ukrainian is a bit more weird to me I must admit - that is probably due to being exposed to Russian and obviously Polish languages more).

But Czech and Slovak always makes me smirk and laugh. That was one of the reason i played KC:D in English voice overs (also because they were good), but I regret it a bit because it should be more natural for me to listening to original voice overs.

Now, I have dillema for KC:D 2, because I got used to English VO. At the same time I want to experience it in original language, but I don't want to have the game subjectively demeaned by that because of how, we Poles, tend to react to Czech language (not all of us but certainly a big part of our population).
