Anytime I can get 60+ hours through a play-through I have to have a positive sentiment. I'm not someone who ploys though a bad game just to say I finished it. Why bother? Anyway this game was close to being great.

Why are people so butthurt over this game?
Because we had hope someone in this world still knew how to make traditional RPGs and Obsidian was our chosen one after InXile fucked Wasteland 2... we are having our Obiwan Kenobi betrayal moment while Faergus is smiling to the piles of cash.

I had my fair share of fun with it. Yes the encounter design wasnt the best, yes the AI and pathfinding was insultingly bad, but there were plenty of elements which made more than up for it. And if youre fair to yourself you have to put up with alot more shit to extract fun out of classics like Fallout or Arcanum.

Alot of you guys sound like those "my super sweet sixteen" brats who throw an epic tantrum because they got a blue bmw as birthday present while they clearly wanted a pink ferrari. POE is not the epitome of crpg, we get it, but calling it bad or mediocre is just fucked up. Most of the hate is bred out of the hype you created and fell victim to. Not the games fault.

Encounter design and pathfinding is insulting for a game where combat is everything . Not even gona talk about how shit doesnt work ( talents, skills ) because it doesnt really matter when game has no real Difficulty setting , but more like 3 Easy modes and 1 Enemies dont fit in to screen and block each other due pathfinding mode (PoTD)

Actually, that would be me lying to myself. In those games fun was present in large quantities all around me and I had no trouble extracting it.

Positive because they made "D&D" playable for everyone. They improved over the IE games with smooth, outstanding animations ( remember crappy Bethesda animations?) and art style. For me the graphics it's one of the best I have seen in years. It's as detailed as Temple of Elemental Evil and man I loved that graphics ( but it was so hard). It's much better then Divinity: OS because the story it's more interesting and the fact that you get info just about every stat it's amazing ( you don't need a guide). I love the fact that they took care of the little things as gathering the party and clicking on the door would result in immediate exit ( I hate in Wasteland 2 or old IE games that you need to watch you party move until the exit ). It does need improvement like better stronghold and faster loading screens but I'm used to Obsidian at having some little bugs now and then but compared to 2000 we are very lucky in terms of patches. I love the day/night cycle but I want to see that NPC have schedule, that the cycle really counts like in Arcanum. It's a celebration for all PC's to have such games made again and most important : improved!

I have 130 hours in PoE. For comparison I quit New Vegas after 12 hours and Skyrim after 25 hours.

Although I enjoyed PoE that was more due to nothing of worth being released in many years except in 2014.

[Negative]

I really liked PoE at the beginning (read: the prologue), but I progressively disliked the game the more I played it until I absolutely couldn't stand it anymore and uninstalled it. Even a few beers couldn't dampen my extreme boredom or make me forget about the obviously shitty mechanics and character system. All I could think about is how much fun I had playing the Baldur's Gate Trilogy or even Obsidian's last (semi-popamole) title, The Stick of Truth, which is vastly superior to this drivel.

Wot? Are you implying PoE is a blue BMW? This is more likely:
EaglePremier_zpscagkg9xm.jpg

The Worst Car of All Time: 1989 Eagle Premier

You may look at this car and think to yourself, "that's not that bad." But what it is that makes this car particular terrible, it's what it is not.

When you get into this car, you feel nothing. There is nothing special or unique about the Eagle Premier. It is almost as if the designer took his four-year old kid's crayon drawing of car and decided to model the Eagle Premier after it. It has no style. It is not fast. It's not at all "luxurious" despite it being branded as a luxury car. It doesn't have particularly good gas mileage. It is the most underwhelming car in the world. Even with other dreadful cars, at least they have a story to tell; something unique about them.

This car looks like the generic silhouette of a vehicle in which you would spot only on a 25-year old poster that has been hanging in tired DMV, generic and apathetic in nature, faded and defeated from years of exposure to florescent lighting and the restless complaints of impatient souls.

It is a symbol of sheer indifference and nothingness.

PoE made me adore games like Grimrock 1+2 and Lords of Xulima much more. That's fine though sometimes it takes something fairly disappointing to see the good.

PoE is not a bad game overall but it's flaws are quite glaring. It's probably easier to say that as someone who didn't empty my wallet backing the game (I never even pledged I was broke at the time), but I really have a hard time praising a game that retains the faults of the IE games yet adds more clutter to it.
