How about we vote whether we do Yuiria mission or not? Sending Zayan just to scout is idiotic, her time is way too valuable for that. Going half-cocked without the whole crew is also a waste of time and dangerous. We need Rin for support. Either we skip the mission or we go with full crew.

6 out of 9 voters were in favor of doing the mission in one way or the other, last I counted.

The most popular choices for Yuiria are Erdrick and Zayan, with Aria for third place.

I am not sure why we need the whole crew. What's Arlin going to do there? Or Lucy, or Robust, or any of the slimes? It is only a question whether we can do it without Rin.

There were concerns about this mission requiring subtlety, and Rin being so bent on proving herself that her presence there could actually be detrimental.

Whole crew meaning all the big players, as in Erd, Zayan and Rin, and maybe Aria/Arlin. You are right that we don't need slimes or gobbos there.

If it comes to a fight, I would rather we have one fighter for offensive while the other keeps our non-combatans safe.

I guess I'll go with plan archaen for now. Cow diplomacy is pretty lulzy. :D

By the way, how is the pink slime going to feed? The prisoner? Arlin? A goblin? I know they can eat other ways, but we do want to nurture their development in the most optimal way.

I wondered how long would it take until someone asked this.

Personally, I would have saved the Pink Slime and the others in order to have the rival bandit leader publicly humiliated and tortured in an unorthodox way, but with Rin, chances are he's not going to survive this encounter.

Either way, during peace time, the prisoner or the gobbos can gladly provide her nourishment, but I believe Erdrick himself is so desperate he would at some point attempt to try being the "donor" anyway, if only to check if he's truly immune to aphrodisiacs.

I don't believe Arlin would be fond of the idea of being the slime's food, no matter how much we attempt to justify this choice. He already doesn't like Erd and his companions too much, so forcing him to be "consensually assaulted" by a monster (possibly repeatedly) is something that will make him hate us for sure. But, then again, this game more or less follows/makes fun of anime rules, so perhaps he won't mind too much.
:M

Either way, this is something we can think about later, for now we should focus on wondering what kind of horrible situation we'll find ourselves in by going back to Yuria's Grand Temple.

In order of priority, Prisoner > Male Goblin > Kidnapped villagers > Arlin (emergency rations).

I guess captured animals will not make the cut. So, what happens now? I believe archaen's suggestion is winning (although I would go to Erise first if this can be done).

Holy shit, I think archaen nailed it. I guess we'll go with his plan. Lucy shall return to us on her own, carrying a large cart of magnatite.

And if not, she'll just have to sneak into the mines, gulp the stuff down and smuggle it in her belly.

She's a very smart cow, she'll know what to do!

This might be a warning. :M

Quick, reinforce Lucy with goblins! She may be a master negotiator, but the wolves might prove tough bargainers!

That might have been a joke, but why not send Petze and a group of scouts for support?

It's half-joke. I am up for it as long as they act as an escort and do not come inside the city to 'cooperate'.

Besides, someone needs to report back to us how this great disaster went down. Even if nothing happens to Lucy, words would be still preferable to moos. :M

Listening to Lucy mooing out the whole story would be really cool, actually, but I want Petze to take some scouts in for support. They aren't to enter the town for any reason, unless it's to bail out Lucy. That's all they're there for.
Actually, send Runde with them, since he's the brains of the operation.
So, something like this:
Locations and tasks:

Yuiria – Investigate the Grand Temple for angels and visit the Adventurer’s Guild for news on the expedition.
Zayan
Aria

Virtue Forest – Join Fortunio’s camp and parlay with the new bandits.
Rin
Arlin
Blue
Green
Purple
Pink
Orange
Red

Ontoglia – Drop by the Governor’s mansion to broker a deal for more magnatite.
Lucy w/ Runde and his hand picked spies.

Grahferde – Be on standby in case anything happens.
Robust
Boss
Runde

***

A. Go to Yuiria.

Yeah, promoting Lucy to our second-in-command would be a nice twist to the story.

Aria can. Runde can't.

Also bear in mind that as far as Ontoglia is concerned, "outside town" means at the foot of the mountain.

Aria can. Runde can't.
Something to do with his stats? Or with Aria's supernatural copycat abilities?

Here's the moment where we think how nice it would have been to have items that could be imbued with magic.

So it looks like our cow diplomacy plan is hitting an obstacle in its core.

Still, who in their right mind would butcher a free cow? :M

Would she get connected to us, or can it be spun as a 'there is a healer around who works for magnetite'?

If they aren't allowed to be in the town, how will they know if Lucy is in danger?
Actually, we don't need any spells. Have Runde pick a group that he thinks can pose as slaves and monitor the situation. Unless Lucy is about to die, he is not to interfere.
The only issue is the protection of the goblins themselves, but I trust him enough to be able to make it out of the city in case of trouble.
Changing my vote from Petze to Runde.
