You can also opt not to send anyone at all to a particular destination if you deem it too risky.

Look like Yuiria and Ontoglia are either/or choices. I wouldn't trust any of them to our companions.

Goddamit, Codex. Shoud've taken a box of magnatite when there was a chance.

Ah, a freeform update! Great gain potential, but also high chance of fucking up. It would explain why treave posted so soon.
Anyway, let me try:

Yuria: Let's send Arlin and Lucy to check in the Adventurers' Guild. The former has the special power of being overlooked by everyone. Surely adventurers will be more understanding of our accident and not attempt to harm a little boy, no? The temple can wait for now, although if Arlin can investigate a little if he's able.
V. Forest: Rin, Aria and Runde can take care of the problem, deposing the newcomers and re-establishing our puppet.
Ontoglia: Zayan of course No-one for now.
Grahferde: Boss, Robust, Petze, Orange and Red should be enough to cover all sides.

As for our Hero character, the choice is obvious:
E: Drop by Erise village to check how things are going, then talk with the priest about the temple. Later return to the village and observe Erdrick in his natural habitat: lazying around and taking a well-deserved break. Besides, boredom can make wonderful things happen.

By the way, treave, how much time would each activity take? I suppose it will be long enough for the adventurers' expedition to arrive in the next update.

Also, I loved that tale about Erd's early days. It seems the Goddesses like them young noticed Erd quite quickly. Gotta love how the High Priest's advice is pretty much "go outside and fight monsters you git. I don't care you're barely twelve!":lol:

The stuff costs millions of gold coins, though. What do we have to bargain with?

I just remembered: wasn't the governator governor's daughter blind? If we can convince him that we can cure her daughter, he's quite likely to be eager to listen. The problem will be when he asks us to show proof about that "healing machine" we have, though.

It is possible, though a regeneration machine isn't a cure machine. If it were, we wouldn't have our problem.

It can restore a damaged limb, and we can remove illnesses/effects caused by magic, but I do not think we can go against natural ailments yet.

Maybe with a bit more research. If there is magnatite in it for us, that would be a worthy path.

However, the only way I can see us striking any deal with the Governor is by stealing his daughter.

Man, I just don't know. I am almost tempted to go full retard and bring Zayan to the capital to think of a way to bypass the temple defences.

But can a divine power be tricked/bypassed with the power of SCIENCE?

So, taking Azira's template, I have two plans.

Yuiria – Investigate the Grand Temple for angels and visit the Adventurer’s Guild for news on the expedition.
Team: Erdrick, Zayan?

Virtue Forest – Join Fortunio’s camp and parlay with the new bandits.
Team: Rin, Lucy, Petze

Ontoglia – Drop by the Governor’s mansion to broker a deal for more magnatite.
Team: Aria, Arlin, Runde

Grahferde – Be on standby in case anything happens.
Team: Boss, Blue, Green, Purple, Pink, Orange, Red

Choice: A - to go to Yuiria, alone or with Zayan.

Or
Yuiria – Investigate the Grand Temple for angels and visit the Adventurer’s Guild for news on the expedition.
Team: Erdrick, Zayan?, Aria?

Virtue Forest – Join Fortunio’s camp and parlay with the new bandits.
Team: Rin, Lucy, Arlin. Arlin for talking and generally deciding things, Rin for breaking bones if it doesn't help.

Ontoglia – Drop by the Governor’s mansion to broker a deal for more magnatite.
Team: None. Too danderous. Leave it for later and hope Zayan endures for a while longer.

Grahferde – Be on standby in case anything happens.
Team: Boss, Blue, Green, Purple, Pink, Orange, Red

Choice: A - to go to Yuiria, alone or with Zayan/Aria.
If anyone thinks of a good companion for Erdrick to take to Yuiria, chime in.

Rin? Not a very stealthy candidate, but she's the only one who can get us out/cover us if things get rough. :philosoraptor:

Kz3r0's Aria might not be a bad idea, because of her spell. If anything happens, she could free us, without being affected by the anti-monster barrier. Fighting the mega-priest - or anyone - head on would be stupid.

Actually, it's not that simple. Erd's body is fine: he doesn't seem to suffer from incontinence nor anything like that, so I believe the important bits are here and fully functional. The problem is that we don't know what kind of ritual/conditions must be observed before Angelic beings can mate. Naturally, no healing magic nor artifact can help us with that.

Second, it was already mentioned that perhaps the cause is that his angelic body is not mature enough yet to procreate. Considering that the tales we know so far mentioned Angels with more than two wings and more elaborate halos, I believe this could be the reason. If so, the machine wouldn't be able to help us once again.

In any case, we don't fully know the limitations of what can this machine do. treave, did Zayan mention anything about this issue?

Lastly, we also don't know if the Governor's daughter is "naturally blind" or if in the past she suffered some kind of tragic accident™ that deprived her from her sight. If it's the latter, the healing pod should be usable.

Yuiria: Erdrick and Aria. We stay out of sight and investigate the temple. Aria goes to the Adventurer's Guild alone to gather info.
Virtue Forest: Rin. Just tell her we need the bandits alive and to continue doing as they were instructed. Lets see how this plays out.
Ontoglia: Arin, Runde, Robust.
Grahferde: The rest.

A.

treave I want to immediatly ask the village priest what he knows about the "demon-destroying" aura of the grand temple. What does the priest know of the aura's origin, effect and size/gaps.

I'm interested in an angel liberation setup.

Aria is Arlin's twin. Given the ruckus we caused in the capitol (and our party had to be noted when we entered the city), she's likely to be recognized as one of ours. Sending her alone to the guild is plain stupidity.

Will think about potential groups.

Aria is Arlin's twin.
Fraternal twins are not identical twins. They do not look any more like each other than any other brother and sister. Which could vary wildly in appearance, givan that one is a boy and the other is a girl. :M

Only Arlin was exposed for everyone to see at the banquet. This shouldn't be a point of concern. Aria may yet be recognized as our companion - but the list of those who would be able to do so would be much shorter.

Not that I support sending her to the Adventurers - we are the ones who should talk to them.

I seem to remember them having a rather significant resemblance. Same uncommon hair color at least.

Similar facial features, yes. How many people know that Arlin has a sister, though? How many would think to look closely at a peasant?

I haven't seen anything about their hair. I don't even remember if their color was mentioned. I remember Rin has silver hair, which should in theory be uncommon, but nothing about the twins.

Did they?

Well, going back to the first chapter, the dying mage said this:

“Tell me about angels. What do you know of them?”

“But… aren’t you…” The mage’s bloodshot eyes glance up at your halo and your wing. “N-Never mind. I will talk. Angels… To most of us, they are monsters out of a fairytale. My mother used to sing a song to me about how if I was bad, the Carnage Pigeon would come and catch me and eat me…” He pauses nervously.

“Don’t worry, I don’t eat men.” [...]

“Besides… besides the usual children’s stories, there were records from the ancient war… I heard this from my superiors in the Order. They said the angels had large wings… crimson feathers that could set men on fire with a single brush, and a circle of light above their head that fired rays of destruction which could obliterate a city… but they fought for neither the Five Gods or the Demon God. They only reveled in destruction. That is… that is all I know! I swear!”

From the second chapter:

Both stories shared a single similarity: the angels turned out to be uncontrollable, and wreaked havoc on both sides. Different stories presented different angels: there were those with two wings, those with four, or even six. The wings were either white, or blood red. At times they were described with halos, and at other times with none.

Meanwhile, I assume this is a somewhat accurate description of Erdrick's appearance:

You are a -UNKNOWN- foot 11 inch tall Angel Lord, with a somewhat narrow body and a decent amount of visible muscle. You are currently wearing a comfortable cloak and using your magic as a weapon. Your face is human in shape and structure, with light, radiant skin. It has a somewhat masculine, angular jawline. Your short, white hair looks good on you, accentuating your features well.

You have a humanoid shape with the usual torso, arms, hands, and fingers. Two normal human-like legs grow down from your waist, ending in normal human feet.

You have two large, white wings. They are magnificent specimens as far as wings go, majestic in size and sporting downy white feathers that are comfortable to the touch.

You have a strange, flat, disc-like ring hovering above your head. It budges slightly when you pull at it, but no more. What a strange thing.

Your ample hyperweapon is -CENSORED- inches long and -CENSORED- inch thick.
I took some liberties with the description, since I do not remember if Erd's exact size, hair color and eye color were ever mentioned, but this should do the trick. Either way, treave implied our appearance might change, which probably includes growing more wings and/or a more elaborate halo, as our character physically matures (not so much mentally). :M

You'd think he would have enough money to hire a healer, though. Healing magic shouldn't be that rare.

Well, healing an entire set of non-functional organs could be a feat that's too hard or too expensive to heal, even for Ontoglia. Still, it wouldn't hurt us to try.

By the way, what if we teach Zayan the "Another Face" spell? She should have enough MP to keep it for a long time, helping her in Yuria if she was sent here for some reason. Of course, I would advice against sending her at the temple, but I'm not sure if elves would be considered "monsters" in this setting. In any case, she did mention she could make a plan about Yuria's adventurer invasion if she had more information, so IMO she probably has something in mind to disguise herself if she went here.

Anyway, hopefully our lazy, perverted, favorite scholar does get a chance to rest at some point. Treave mentioned something about a "stress mechanic" if I'm not mistaken. However, so far Erd has barely spent any time to practice his lazying techniques.

Yes. treave, is masking Zayan possible? If so, she might be a good candidate for Yuiria... if we keep our ties to a minimum.

She might be able to help us enter, or come up with a way to shield us from whatever barrier is in place.

Edit: those edits.

We should wait for when is Pon Farr time.
Maybe all we need is just a female angel.
Anime ruined you guys, humanoid probably doesn't work for an angel, only angel-like does.
