Interpretation of the poll results and comments made in this thread:
#1 RPG - Fallout because the combat was awesome and blowing holes in people was tons of funs! Fallout 2 has greatly improved the original by greatly increasing the number of people to kill.
check your name and avatar, son. it doesn't say virgil.
My name and avatar are often misunderstood. It's very tragic.

Butthurt much, nya?
Not really. I can't say that I care much which game out of 3 best RPGs is the very bestest. I love them all.
As for my post it was merely an observation. It's not a secret that most people who frequent the Codex these days aren't really passionate about RPGs, haven't played many best RPGs because they weren't released in 20** and don't show much interest in playing them
no matter how good these games are. That's what I find the most annoying about the new Codex. How many people have tried Teudogar, for example? Jarl, for example, has been posting for years but played Fallout only recently because it had a time limit. The mind boggles.
Anyway, back to the 3 games in question. They are all different. PST is brilliant but linear and thus doesn't have a lot of choices and role-playing. Fallout has choices but it's the combat that's the source of attraction. When you think of replaying it, do you think of whether to side with Killian or Gizmo this time or do you think of that TB combat with firearms (a rare treat) and glorious over the top death animations? Come on, let's be honest.
Arcanum's strength is quality role-playing. When it comes to it, even Fallout pales in comparison and PST shouldn't be mentioned at all. It's the fucking king of role-playing, yet it's the last in the poll.
Now the Codex is still debating what RPG is and isn't. Recently the dominating opinion shifted to "RPGs are about combat, choices are LARPing so fuck' em". The results of the poll merely illustrate it.
