A dueling game by author Neal Stephenson with MOTION CONTROL MOTHERFUCKERS. Quite a high goal they're going for, so not too optimistic about this one. Not that even the game itself sounds too promising.
More a curiosity than anything else, I will ignore it for now, unless it manages to get funded, improbable.

Now an interesting case, these guys were funded a first time and then:
Thanks to your generosity, we raised $5,855. Before we got the money, here are the deductions:
Kickstarter Fees
Amazon Fees
Dropped backers or uncollected pledges
Money set aside for rewards
Fees to get the money to Canada

With $3,500 left, combined with our own money, we paid for software licenses, music, art, animation and voice acting commissions.

That's it, it's all gone.
So, what's the solution?
However, the deeper we get with our new game engine, we encounter roadblocks that limit our creative potential with LCH - mostly because of not having access to Unity Pro ($4,500) and the "Pro" only optimizations and features not available in Unity Indie ($800 - what we have).
For this very reason, we've decided to launch another Kickstarter Campaign.

Waht a tweest.
Here the new project they launched, already funded, not hard, they asked again for 5K, this time however seems that they will manage to get much more:

A final note, they wrote Marionettes but it must be read Stands(JoJo).

An interesting FPS TRON style:
Retrovirus is a Descent-inspired six-axis shooter
In Retrovirus, you are the Agent of an anti-virus program fighting against a viral army that has rapidly taken over parts of your system. Called on to respond to the crisis, you must defend the system and remove the virus before it can corrupt and destroy your world. In doing so, you'll explore a surreal software environment that pieces fragments of human reality into the fabric of its own world.

Retrovirus also features a dual narrative, bringing in the fictional people to whom this computer is important along with their personal dramas and real-world implications if the system is allowed to fall.
5 to 6 hour single player / co-op campaign
a world designed around the unique features of six degrees of freedom movement
weapons designed to give players both damage and control of space
decision-based AI for unscripted level encounters
If we're successful with Kickstarter, we'll be guaranteeing the release of our Paragon design tool for the community. With Paragon, you'll be able to author your own mods and levels, extending the life of the game and enriching the player community.
Will you provide non-Steam; DRM free version?

Yes. Backers will have the option to download Retrovirus DRM free.

Kickstarter FAQ said:
Are projects that were not successfully funded browsable on Kickstarter?

Kickstarter doesn’t have a browse area for projects whose funding was unsuccessful, however unsuccessfully funded projects are accessible through Kickstarter’s search and the profile pages of the project’s creator and backers. When users click on a creator’s profile they can see all of the creator’s past projects — successfully and unsuccessfully funded.
In terms of external search (Google, Bing, etc), Kickstarter de-indexes projects whose funding was unsuccessful. This means that unsuccessfully funded projects don’t show up in those search results. This was implemented after receiving many requests from former project creators who were finding their unsuccessfully funded projects ranking extremely high — in some cases as the #1 result — in Google searches for their name.

I still don't understand what Prosper, Drog and Cleve are waiting for when the road to untold riches is there before them...

On paper it sounds like the perfect plan, but unfortunately it would involve Cleve having to get off his fat ass and make a fucking video game, so it won't work.

Found this one:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2088045881/paper-sorcerer

Paper Sorcerer is a first-person turn-based RPG with adventure game elements inspired by Wizardry, Dungeons and Dragons, and Shadowgate.
  • Play as a renegade sorcerer as he struggles to escape the book prison and regain his powers.
  • Escape a magical prison filled with heroes hunting you down at every turn.
  • Strategy over grinding battles, with a charge based spell system.
  • Create a party of summons to join you as allies in battle.
  • Discover open-ended puzzles and solve them with a combinations of spells, items, and your wits.
  • Hand-drawn high-resolution sprites inspired by the work of late eighteenth and early nineteenth century illustrators like Aubrey Beardsley and William Bradley.
  • DRM-free for PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, and possibly Xbox Live Indie Arcade and web-browser.
  • All-inclusive game, promise to never make you pay for DLC content.

People who pledged for Serpent's Tongue have now received a ~280mb print&play playtest version of the game as PDF. I skimmed through it briefly. The pictures on the cards are quite pretty.

Some of the spells were quite interesting too. Such as "As on earth so in Heaven" and "As in heaven, so on earth" which makes spells that affects sphere(s) in material/quantum domains affect its opposition sphere in the opposite domain. Meta-manipulation of sustained spells can usually lead to some gloriously fucked-up combos. This is almost enough to make me regret not pledging soon enough to make a cameo in the adventure. I would've loved to be an antagonist, complete with my favourite oilskin and akubra.

With this the whole of Sierra on Kickstarter(only King's Quest is missing) scored 1,5M$, adding Tex Murphy and Schafer we have around 5,5M$ raised by old adventure games.
Old School RPGs, Wasteland 2 and Shadowrun, combined got around 5M$ instead.

Edit:
In fact the only newcomers doing well on Kickstarter are The Banner Saga developers, even more so considering that they didn't have the media hype and support of a publisher like Republique or the fame of the Yogventures guys.

Quest For Glory too. Unless you already consider their "maybe in 6 months" answer.

Emotionally Engaging TellTalle are already doing A King's Quest Game.

Granted they don't make classic point and click adventure games anymore.... (nor would any publisher fund them to make one).

Huh? I'm talking about Quest For Glory... as in, that one is still missing too from Kickstarter.

We need a new Police Quest. Maybe it could take place during the G20 or on Tahir square. It's even going to be an action game to reel in those casual fans.

I do realize this isn't much, but it does bring a smile to my face.

Paul Reiche III supposedly said:
Hi Anthony,

Fred and I have definitely talked about the Kickstarter phenomenon and, while it's super awesome to be riding the Skylanders Express Train to Mega-Hit-town, it's also driving us bonkers to know how successful a Star Control kickstarter project would be, but know that we can't pursue it simultaneously. I am literally holding my hands up in the air, clenching and unclenching my fingers in frustration... and somehow, also typing -- it's a miraculous gesture!

So, maybe we can get a (real) new Star Control.
