I wonder if sound will be a bitch to emulate for Xenoblade Chronicles X the way it was for Xenoblade Chronicles for a while. Good progress, though.

The Dark Spire on Nintendo DS is a must-play if you're interested in hardcore dungeon crawlers. :)

it's a good thing us smart people are mostly interested in emulating dungeon crawlers; i.e. games which feature almost no animation :D

You guys can also check out Rhapsody - A Musical Adventure, if you're into music-themed JRPGs. It has surprising features like a Hard difficulty mode, a mini tactical battlegrid/combat map, and some really beautiful I-am-surprised-this-is-the-PS1 level graphics.

You can check out a blind preview of the game on my YouTube channel.

If I can give another recommendation, it would be Etrian Odyssey.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with this game. If not, it's a real dungeon-crawler gem for the Nintendo DS.

It has some interesting features, like many customizable class skills, manual mapping of the dungeon (you actually use your stylus to map the place) and a pseudo-crafting system, in which you gather raw materials from enemies and the shopkeeper crafts new items from them.

It's a really good game, and will challenge you along the way. Recommended.

yeah etrian oddyssey's been covered to death. it's listed in the compilation of turn-based dungeon crawlers thread. i'm afraid the thread might have slipped to page 2 already tho :(

personally i got rather sick of the EO formula about halfway thru EO3

Bros what games I should get for my NDS to aid me in my travels? Not necesarily (j)RPG-ish or tactical-ish, can be some good old action. I already saw the Etrian Odyssey recommendation above, there is of course Advance Wars DoR and the Fire Emblems, ports of Chrono Trigger and Front Mission.

Also what are some good non-nintendo systems to emulate on a NDS and their related games? NES/SNES is pretty obvious, I am also quite familiar with the GBA library as I still have one around which is why I am asking for non-nintendo. My knowledge of the Sega Genesis library is limited for instance and there is bound to be something obscure worth playing from the pre-32 bit era.

I also saw that you can actually emulate a 286 and even a good old 386 with VGA and soundblaster, quite intriguing that is. Also ScummVM DS. Also noticed that some emus require a specific card type to run them, gonna have to read up on that.

I LOVe jrpg's. fully. i found devil survivor too slow, both in conflict resolutoin and also in its story and character development... it was just always had me doing the same boring things. and the dev. survivor ds titles don't feature good enough teens to make me care in my old BRYCEge.

i found that their attempt to shoehorn first-person view turn-based battles in ADDITION to a completely seperate phase of gameplay where the player also has to spend time strategizing positioning and managing movement/skill resources for the planned fights he wants just ended up being too little of both things: neither "facet" was fleshed out enough mechanically speaking to carry my attention for long. frankly they could have very easily completely cut out either one of the two facets and have been left with a much more focused conflict resolution environment.

oh, and the chick has boobs.

And that is not all, there is this also:

A feature that makes Citra faster while allowing arbitrary render resolutions (HD and beyond) without hacks?
And requires less cpu power for added bonus.

yes plz

Pathfinder: Wrath
I was actually able to get Legend of Legacy to run. I mean, it ran at like 5 FPS on my computer but there didn't seem to be any other problems beyond speed.
