Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.

Well.... technically you point your fingers on the WASD keys.... and click.

Let's move this thread the thread to General gaming. Please.

Fuck I forgot we have an Adventure subforum.
:M
No, no. The abortion that Dreamfall - and probably its successor - is doesn't belong on the monocled adventure forum.
Well it IS more of an adventure that anything else. Heavy on the story, light on the puzzles. Inventory. No combat (or minimal and avoidable). What else would you call it?
Shit.
Nope. You are wrong.
and youa re dumb
Wrong again.

I still don't get it. Why did they say it is point and click when it clearly isn't?

The devs said there'd be another major character the player plays. Once they release shirtless pics of Kian, Jaesun will hail TLJ:C as the most immersive and innovative adventure game of all time.

Shitty Next Gen Console Immersion Action Decline TLJ Kickstarter

It's pretty hilarious considering you enjoy the shit out of Mass Effect, mate
Mass Effect was from the very beginning a popamole decline action game.

The Longest Journey, on the other hand, was a classic point-and-click adventure game, before turning into a shitty console sneak-action-adventure 3rd person decline.

I see Jaesun is on a power trip again
Probably just :butthurt: cause the game already got $500.000 that quickly and is gonna happen with lots of people looking forward to it when it isn't "2D hand drawn" (which MRY already pointed out is wrong :P).

What kind of people donate more than 500$ to kickstarter? Hell, even 100$ seems like a lot. 25 donated 1000$ each, 162- 500$, one guy even donated 10 000$. Why not, let's say, start your own fucking business instead, ffs? Donating 10 000 to a shitty next-gen (second!!!) rape attempt at an old classic seems desperate. How is this even possible?

And all the ordinary people who donated 500?! This is just a game, god damn it. If I donated 1000 just so I can make a character with 10-15 lines at total, I would have felt violated. Couldn't they think of less moronic pledges? Is it so hard to have some respect for other human beings, let alone fans?

Just...sad.

What's with all the butthurt around here? You're like 7 years late. Anyone expecting a sequel to the original must surely be retarded.

Maybe they already own a business and $10 000 is pocket money?

they said its 3d direct control with point and click over top of it. Dont know how that will work or if it will be shit but in the vid while using wasd to move you can see the mouse hovering over things that i assume will be clickable in a sense pointing and clicking.

This is how Grim Fandango worked essentially.

Well, my mixed feelings will be resolved by this.

It will likely get funded at the rate it's going and I don't feel obligated to donate.

I'll be able to get my (Probably shit) conclusion and not feel disappointed in paying for it.

You moved Manny about with the keyboard arrows, he'd look at hotpots and you could hit E or P to interact with or pick them up. Could either set them to be camera relative or character - latter was awkward as hell for me

I'm setting up the Codex Dreamfall Appreciation Society. I for one want to see this story continued. All this 'last part of the trilogy' bullshit is plainly not true, you can tell Tornquist is crazy about the setting and the universe is so detailed, they could easily make more. I'd like to see a return to The Longest Journey in terms of gameplay, but Dreamfall-esque in terms of visuals and story presentation.

The link shows that that wasn't how Grim worked (and i know that because i played it).

It's also interesting, very interested in improvements there (no mouse&click, but things like Manny returning to the orientation he had before after he is forced by a obstacle to turn while moving).
It also lead me to read this.

The storyline/dialogue was the best part of TLJ. Some of the puzzles were too fucking retarded IMHO. Almost Gabriel-Knight-Cat-Hair-Moustache retarded.

Dreamfall toned down the puzzles while keeping the storyline/dialogue above everything else. Not to mention the gorgeous graphics that made the story come to life. It is one of the few games where I've actually shed real tears. :(

To me, Dreamfall Chapters is one of my most anticipated games, and I pledged before even watching the pitch video.
