What is Biowhore finally gets shut down, the Dragon Age IP gets sold to a normal studio, and they make a sequel that totally ignores everything that happened in Vilefart?
I wish but that’s probably not going to happen. Anyways they really should ignore everything past awakening instead of just Veilgaurd.
But nothing happens in DAII, so why even bother ignoring it.
I like the part where Anders tricks you into making a bomb and then tries to rope you into his terrorism plot. That’s at least one event that’s memorable in the game.
DAII had some interesting shit going in it. Like your mother getting mutilated and shit. The whole Anders being a terrorist and making a fucking bomb felt too real worldy to me. Somewhat immersion breaking even. So did the last templar boss fight where the templar baddie was teleporting around Dragonball Z style.

I loved the part of DAII where your protagonist unintentionally caused all the shit that befell Kirkwall, and also had no meaningful choices to make the entire game. Well, even less than usual.

Getting the blood mage specialization is a highlight of that.
Though the fact you could get the specialization AND save the kid by just having master coercion unlocked kinda diminishes that.

Or you could go the meta route and just take the deal and reload :P

They always seem to forget that Zevran and Leliana were the most mentally fucked up companions who are only just escaping an entire life of hedonism and depravity. It's not surprising they're the only 2 not-straight characters.

That's not *woke* enough in modern day))
Leliana is a nuanced and flawed character, which makes her memorable. Her sexual orientation doesn't define her unlike many new characters in later games. She's feminine and popular among male gamers, being the most popular romance by far in DA:O. Middle-stage BioWare was carried by its larger-than-life characters until they completely lost their mojo.
Leliana... :oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops:

Agree, they should've not done that. As for meta stuff it seems as overlook since it applied even to buyable specialize books.

Reading last page...

I think Bioware forum transfered here. We only need someone to calculate how that midget dwarf sweat tastes like... and transformation would be complete.

The reeetards are finally finding out it's not going so well for Wokeguard.

https://www.resetera.com/threads/ch...2-and-nearly-21-below-ff-vii-rebirth.1040778/

Dragon Age: The Veilguard was the seventh best-selling game across Europe in October. It's not the biggest launch, however. Compared with other recent RPGs, first week sales were over 18% lower than Dragon's Dogma 2 and nearly 21% below Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth

I think word of mouth at launch was terrible due to you know what and also EA's own controversial handling of review codes, but I feel like the conversation is turning around to the positive a bit after people actually got to play it more.

But that's just an impression of someone who's too online and from within the enthusiast bubble. I have yet to buy it myself but plan to do so within the next weeks/months.
Reception has been pretty positive overall so hopefully it ends up having good legs. It's personally my GOTY and it isn't particularly close.
Hopefully the game has legs because it is fantastic and fun time. Maybe my second favourite this year. I would love to see it do well and see more of it.
:hahyou:
"Maybe my second favourite this year."
"How many did you play?"
"Two."
"And it is only your maybe second favourite?"

Good news, fellow chuds.

I've been in the industry for a couple decades.
Sure I'm being a bit reductive, but I've seen it time and again the last couple years. It's not that "the chuds" directly impact sales, it's that they dramatically influence the consumer journey and greatly impact discoverability.

If you're posting on this forum, what some ill intended YouTubers videos are not going to have any influence on you. It isn't your primary source of information, it's not how you discover games, and you're already well educated. A game will reach a set of its intended core audience with or without social media discourse.

But in today's day of AAAA sales needs due to costs, that's not really enough anymore. The core basis are so fragmented, there's so much choice and so many highly engaging games, that reaching beyond those consumers is never more challenging than it is today. Those consumers rely on social media and YT to discover a game.

And if ill intended content, monetized outrage, bandwagoning, grifting etc is favored by the algorithm, which it is, it's a massive uphill battle to even reach consumers with a message about your game that is intended, or pure. We don't run ads in our trailers and gameplay videos, we don't monetize our content - we monetize our games - but if people are making money off monetizing your content, there's money to be made outside of the gaming company for creators and platforms, they milk that shit.

It's hard to Breakthrough, it's hard to influence the narrative, and that indeed is what effects sales.

You used to be able to sponsor content, not to influence sentiment, but at least to get a message through the noise, but these days so many influencers have managed to sew doubt on sponsored content and media integrations (mostly because they were losing out on money), that sponsored content doesn't perform as well and in fact many creators don't even want to take deals now because they can make more shitting in the game anyway.

So yes when I (albeit without much nuisance) complain about chud or grifter content hampering a games chance at reaching a larger audience, I'm just really tired of it happening again and again and seeing so many friends lose their jobs over it. Sad. Industry is struggling on how to respond to it, especially as gaming creators want to keep being inclusive. I don't think it's a winning battle right now
It's afraid.

In that DA:O documentary it was explained that the DA setting is a cross between Tolkien and George Martin. As in, a grimdark fantasy world with factions and politics and shades of grey, in which you can still try to play a classic fantasy hero who fights evil. This is a great concept because it has tension and tragic conflict built right into it. It's also something no one else has done.

After thinking about it, how does this bharv thing even make sense?

If someone isn't an obese landwhale or actually disabled then 10 push ups is pretty much effortless and I can't see how randomly dropping and performatively performing a set of push ups makes it less about the person than saying sorry does.

The whole idea is just absolutely pathetic from any logical perspective.
it makes even less sense if you realize you trying to punish bunch of outlaws over some fag. i mean this barv thingy would end in gutter with xir innards splattered around after first time xir tried to pull this shit.

They should have finished making Jowan a full fledged party member. That way you could have had a less evil way to get blood magic, but you'd have to pay the price by having the whiniest of whiny bitches in your party.

Isn't it kind of how it actually worked, with only the Captain entitled to 1 more share for his trouble?
unbinaries got an additional half share for every misgendering, that's why you see so many pirates wearing eyeliner
