Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I use whatever has ammo. Like to keep 2 guns, usually a scoped rifle like the CZ for players and another for zombies. Or a winchester in my bag if I'm using an assault rifle in case I ran out of AR ammo.

I've been using AK74 with kobra for like the past 10 hours until one stupid mistake got me killed. Loved that gun. Although it was really fucking loud.

AKM is an amazing weapon. Very accurate with zeroing up to 800m. One shot zed kills. Only moderate noise.

So what are your choice of weapons atm? I'm sitcking to AKM and M9 SD, the latter for close encounters with zeds while still undetected. And M24 when I go hunting players. Still hoping to find one of the light machine guns.
AKM is truly amazing. Great stopping power, perfect for zombie genocide.
I use the Makarov for towns or slightly out of town because it's silent and AKM for genocide ~300m out of towns and for other players.

No. Interface is missing the Day Z stuff and those weapons and that vehicle with a gunner aren't in Day Z. The description says some kind of mission and the related videos are of a single player zombie mod with story for Arma 2 (Chearnarus Apocalypse, I think).

Zombie missions were popular since OFP came out, Luzur. First linear then more and more open. DayZ was like a next logical step for them.

And yeah Chernarus Apocalypse. It's actually story-based coop, not singleplayer.

Right now I don't have a particular favourite. Just anything that has relatively common ammo is good enough for me. The Winchester fits that bill fairly well.
Also, thanks for warning me about the enfield, guys. Learned just how bad an idea it is to use one first-hand.
And I know this is going to sound retarded, but how do I store things in my backback, anyways? I'm still pretty green at this.

The inventory takes some getting used to, but it's functional.

Just remember the numbers on the right are always what's in your in your regular inventory. When in normal inventory the numbers on the left represent the ground.

Scroll down to your backpack, click the 'Open Bag' button. The numbers on the right are what is in your regular inventory, but now the numbers on the left are what's in your bag. When the bag is open, the top will say something like (3/16). That means that it has three slots left out of sixteen, not the other way around. Your pack is full when it says (0/16).

If you point at a pile of loot and open your gear, you can't access your pack, look away then open your inventory to open your pack.

I posted a link to an inventory tutorial on on Page 7.

Goddamn server reset with new version ate up my tents. I lost a very large amount of stuff. Luckily, I had on me everything that mattered except for M24.

I had logged off on top of one of the strongholds. When I logged back in, there was a fight going on down in the yard. So patiently I lied in wait by the stairs. Nailed two separately right behind the head as they were coming up the stairs. They didn't even see what hit them :smug:

Also, my first up and close kills. Normally, I only snipe from a distance and only people with rifles or one of the larger backpacks but at least one of these two was trouble. I'm otherwise friendly when I run into people.

And I found a camo suit with camouflage pattern.

Is the temperature broken? It was night but my temp kept stable at 41C no matter what I did. I had heat packs on me but I have no idea if you need to do anything to use them or if they work passively. Was it the heat packs?

If you point at a pile of loot and open your gear, you can't access your pack, look away then open your inventory to open your pack.

lolwut. You can access pack either way. If you point at loot and open your gear, you can put stuff on the ground directly into the backpack, with backpack's own UI showing up. When you open your gear any other time, it's a bit trickier. Opening your bag shows the contents as if they were on the ground so you move items between your body and pack.

Not sure about the temp, I was walking around in the rain at 0C and shivering and coughing for a day or two. Now it's impossible to get sick, I think. Maybe I'm just always running between towns.

I see what you mean with the backpack but it's not obvious as it doesn't have the (x/20) slots ontop. I'm just careful with the inventory because I've seen things vapourize. Use it how you will.

Back to the wilderness....

The temperature is now in degrees. It was in percentages before. However, rocket still dun goofed it because I'm at a stable 42°C which seems to be the new 100%. For the Kwans who don't even know what they don't know about Celsius, everything over 36 means fever, 42 means dead and buried.

I understand what he's getting at but he should probably just make it a '"your're getting susceptible to sickness scale/you're healthy" kind of thing. Anyone can nit-pick it apart. Especially people that live in the cold, dark north. I`m sure it will make sense eventually. At the moment it`s useless. One less thing to worry about.

So I haven't played since 1.5.8 or 1.5.7 or whatever. Anyway I haven't played since they implemented the temperature system and shit.
So, how is it now? I tried to hop in to play recently but the servers like to fuck with me, and when I did get to play in some, I got the error message that I had the 1.6.0.1 version and not the 1.6.0, and thus, couldn't play.

Killed my first Bandit today. Fucker was skulking around the Balota airstrip. I was a bit sloppy myself and only realized something was wrong when I stumbled upon the mound of corpses near the entrance to the first hanger. Luckily, the guy was out of ammo for his AKM and was thus relying on his Russian Pea shooter, which levelled the playing field. Played a little game of popamole cat and mouse around the cargo container in the hanger before I cheated by just opening its door and ventilating him while he peeked around the corner.

Also committed my first murder almost seconds later. A guy wanders in just as I was looting the bandit's body. Only notice him because he attracted a zombie. I ventilated him as well. Got a bit guilty after I learned he wasn't a bandit, but at the time I wasn't taking any chances (He had a fairly decent-tier sniper rifle and he popped up almost seconds after I killed the first one, what else was I supposed to assume? For all I knew he was the Bandit's fuck-buddy who scavenged what he didn't get).

Say, what server were you on and what was your name? The sniper rifle wasn't M14, was it? A son of a bitch shot me while I was filling my bottle by the southern barracks at NW airfield. There was a dead body somewhere nearby as I heard the buzzing flies. I saw the guy lean by the corner of the barracks but I couldn't react because of the retarded animation lock. Still, the idiot fired at me three times and missed from 15 feet max. He shot me dead just when I was able to raise my gun.

I was relying on it being safe since it was pitch dark (might be the reason he missed the first three shots) and being only 5 players in the server.

If someone runs, assume they're hostile.

Fixed.

They are hostile.

I fixed the advice because I have noticed a frightening amount of hostiles who were not visible. There is nothing worse than hearing footsteps behind you as you finally reach a replacement for your Makarov.

I find that I am living a lot longer now that I start shooting at anyone and everyone.

I didn't even get the option. I would pick it only because the female model has a slightly thinner frame, eg. smaller target, especially over distance. One could also impersonate a female to get freebies eg. Crispy's online romantic interest.
