I wish the Souls games had an actual soundtrack. Of course it's intentional that there is minimal music for realistic atmosphere but I don't really give a shit about that and think it's a huge loss to not have fitting music to each area true old school style. Maybe mods can fix (any in the series, I don't care which, all are good)?
Yeah the atmosphere approach doesn't mean too much nowadays. When there's so many bright colors around and noise isn't that important to the game except for a couple of times where you are past an area and you can sneak up on an enemy or two. I would rather they add in an whole soundtrack for every area than continue with the just bosses idea.

The OST this time is really good though

He's talking about the areas having music too, not just bosses.

I know but that's irrelevant to be honest, I just put witcher music in the background sometimes plus the souls games are so combat heavy that sometimes I don't care about the background music.

I'm pretty sure they nerfed lost sinner shortly after the initial release date. I played the game some time around the launch date (might even been a few days earlier) and he was by far the hardest boss for me on the first playthrough. There was very little time between his combos to attack him, and there wasn't much wind up before his attacks either. He was way easier on subsequent playthroughs.

Yeah LS got nerfed hard. Used to love that fight, especially if you didn't light the fires and used a torch. Really atmospheric and tense. Another thing is he/she doesn't seem to thrust very much anymore. Maybe it's still cool if you're new to the fight but now... it's just something in my way. Used to be one of my favourites. Not top tier but close.

Hahahahahaaaaaaa.

I dunno, I think the kitchen sink approach to anything/everything is going to feel pretty heavy handed and lose the subtlety of the previous two games.

I am somewhat triggered by the attack animations/movesets so far, especially of thrusting weapons. My butt hurts, but not too terribly, so maybe I'll just play this like DS 1 where I do a few runs and maybe a challenge run or two then call it a day.

If DS2 was subtle it was so subtle that I dunno what anything was about. It had some cool one-off shit that can't really be fit into a story AFAIK (like the BDSM guy you stab in the face with a keysword) but what could you ever put together by being observant? Not counting retarded fan stories that are like 90% unsupported by anything in the game.

Putting together the fact that Siegmeyer went hollow because you kept humiliating him by "rescuing" him was subtlety. I mean, that kinda shit is about 0.1% of why I like Souls games so it's not something I'd Vaati-jerkoff about, but it's there.

wow, that's some really shitty performance for such an average looking game (engine, not art direction... just to pre-empt some possible dumb fucks)

Once you turn off a few GPU intensive features like DoF, Bloom, and maybe SSAO or whatever it is called you will probably be able to double your framerate.

Yeah, for example Motion Blur gives you about 10 extra fps when turned off.

Praise the sun! That first one got me worried for a while.
