Hey, actual news!

It does sound like bullshit, unless Witcher 3 secretly undersold and they're now desperate for more revenue or something

Strangely that reminds me these Glassdoor reviews for CDPR: https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/CD-Projekt-RED-Reviews-E644250.htm

Fake milestones just to increase the pressure.

Out of touch upper management setting fake milestones without prior consulting with anyone actually working on the thing, leading to crushing, over a year long crunch periods.

Bad planning and fake milestones made just to squeeze the most out of people

Everyone can register and review any studio on GlassDoor, even me or you without any restriction, from what i know, so this site is shit. Still some faggots probably come from BEATIFULL PROGRESSIVE WEST EUROPE to Third world country like Poland and thought that u can fucking around and not working. Work hard or go home, faggots. Game industry already has too much non-ambitious AAA studios where devs can make shitty games without any effort and heart.

Also, 2016 release date is not happening because they already said many times that they are focusing on Witcher in 2015 and 2016. But i think that 2017 is very good date for Cyberpunk 2077.

FFS stop bumping this thread, there's nothing to talk about yet

You want actual news ?
CDPR CEO talked with dude who runs stock exchange talk TV program, it was right after VGA and they talked about it.

There were a lot of uninteresting questions like "how did you do it? (winning VGA)" or other shit like that but most interesting part was when dude asked CEO about future. Dude asked what will be their next project and CEO said it will be CB2077 then dude asked if they can beat TW3 sales with CB2077 and CEO answered something like this:

"TW3 success changed a lot how about we think of CB2077 and we now fully expect it to beat TW3 sales and reach way more people than TW3"

Which basically is what i was talking about earlier. After success of TW3 and its sales they won't be doing PnP conversion but they will do witcher with guns and probably scrapped their initial pitch for the game (as PnP game proper convesion)

Imo CB2077 still will be good game but they are on path of Bioware and soon they will join their ranks.

Perkel has access to secret Polish documents stating that CD Projekt were originally planning to make this game a "PnP conversion", that nobody else has ever seen.

(Seriously, has anybody else seen anything like that?)

Every interview when they announced CB2077 and all of them were mostly in polish. I think i translated the most important one but i don't remember where i put it (this thread or some other)

lolwut. thats a bit of a leap there

No it is not. You need to look at it from their point of view.
Why make game which will sell 1mln+ or 2mln when they can make now game which will sell 10mln.
It is obvious that FPS Cyberpunk with CHARNAME will sell much better than traditional cRPG.

Which is why i try to keep my hype low for CB2077. Better to come to this with low expectations and be surprised than proper take on PnP Cyberpunk that will give it justice.

Most people were bitching because they got fired or they must left after Witcher 2 release when they had financial problems, also alot of people from polish gamedev envy CDPR success + there is much more turnover with foreign workers mostly from western europe than from Poland where there is still alot of veterans from Witcher 2 or even Witcher 1. They have also much better reviews on polish site than on glassdorr.

BTW: Consoles fucked Witcher 3 development and fact that they announced release date to soon, they had no choice but hard crunch to deliver after few delays.

George Lucas said that it's ironic that he became what he loathed most in his young stage of his life.
He battled against corporations and for independence but in time he became a corporation.

In conclusion, 2077 is fucked :)

A 2016 release is unlikely,to release their next major project a year and a half after Witcher 3 would require a second team of 150 people working on it since 2014 at least and they are not that big, especially considering that they are still working on the Witcher 3 dlcs, even a 2017 release is hard if the majority of the people started working on it after the Witcher 3 release

They have i think 150+ devs in warsaw and they have second studio in Crocow which they opened up i think year ago.
They had already people working on CB2077 as they mentioned after delay that people who worked on CB2077 were moved to finishing TW3.

2016 naturally is not going to happen but holiday 2017 is pretty much their target with marketing starting early 2017

Also they said that they are working on smaller games whatever that means.

Sure they has some people working on it but having some artists doing designs and some writers working on the story and the world is quite different than having an entire team working full time on it,when they started working 100% on it is what matters, end of 2017 is a more logical and feasible though I still have some doubts,it took them 4 years to make Witcher 2 and another 4 to make Witcher 3 after all
