it is fantastic. If you don't know the language in question.

And if you do know the language, nothing changes anyway.

In other words its a fantastic idea, period.

That's true, from what I understand they came up with their own unique implementation of enemy level scaling.

Jesus you guys get over it already. Its fucking common for an rpg to use enemies as gating measure in open world rpgs. Normally enemies with higher level would simply stomp you because the progression curve is much steeper, but as cdproject went with a flat rising one they had to implent resistances. In the much praised gothic games the exact same thing happened (highlevel enemies had a certain armor value that you simply couldnt break with lowlevel swords) and nobody gave a shit.

The problem is just the fact that you have level 5 and level 20 drowners, that look and behave the same, but when you're level 5 you can kill the former in a few hits, and the latter - in a few hundred hits.

It's dumb, immersion breaking, and lazy. Making level 20 drowners be "uber alghouls" instead would make it much better, and the only thing to change would be the model and description in the journal.

I wouldn't quote anymore whatever CDPR said before about CP2077. It was before TW3 success. To anyone who doesn't understand this. All of that was about CDPR CB2077 which they planned to be proper PnP conversion with their writing but game mechanics and stuff being straight out of PnP. They even talked about some classes being poor and wanting to fix those classes.

After TW3 selling by now probably something like 8mln + coppies i don't think they will give a shit about PnP and they will do their Oblivions with Guns.

On one hand that sucks but on other hand considering heavy C&C and quality of writing from CDPR i would want to see their take on TW with guns.

No, if you know the language then you don't need the implant. That changes. In other words, it might have a big gameplay impact.

No you retard you just won't buy that implant and virtually nothing will change to you.

They did mention sticking to the PnP rules in some of the earliest interviews, but that idea got scrapped pretty quickly - even before TW3 came out, I think. It always was highly improbable. Not on that kind of budget, and not when the game needs to sell more than 3 copies.

Well, the number one complain people threw at TW3 was you had to play as an icky sticky white male. I don't consider that a huge problem, but the root of that whine(forcing you to play a set character with an establish backstory) is a fair one, one of the reasons I hate Fallout 4. (Durr hurr 1 charisma 1 int but I have a law degree!)

Ah come on now. FO4 is a whole new level of bullshit. Yeah TW3 doesn't give you a choice for LARPing , but at least there's an honest to god, consistent, coherent backstory there, based on 5 novels and dozen short stories. It adds something into the game.

FO4 just gives you 2 minute introduction that stops making sense after 5 minutes. Apart from that you get fuck all.

Different approaches. The Witcher was specifically built around for playing as Geralt, from the story and the characters to the quests and the game mechanics, and changing him into a generic character would've made the games lose many of their strengths. FO4, on the other hand, seems to still be loosely based on the "be whoever you want and do whatever you want" philosophy, so forcing a backstory and a voice actor on the character just dilutes that aspect without really giving anything in return. It'll be interesting to see how CDPR will handle a non-fixed protagonist.

Why do people think this game will offer you to make your own character? Maybe they follow Deus Ex formula.

Leaks of what? Most of that time they spent crunching TW3. This game is years from release, watch as nothing from the info released along with the teaser actually be true for the final game.

My guess is that they were planing to work on it, possibly as some kind of back-up, in case they did not/could not make a Witcher 3 game. There are no leaks probably because there is hardly anything to be leaked. I don't think this game will come out any time soon.
