I posted the stream on twitch on the previous page. These streams every time demonstrate the uselessness of the occupation called "community manager"

i'm glad for keanu and pondsmith that this game will at least end up somewhat functional

relic skill tree being in Phantom Liberty is accidental proof that they shipped the johnny silverhand DLC as the core game and the mr blue eyes/heist core game as the expansion, but fortunately the target audience is too dumb to notice

At face value, I like the health/armor/chrome rebalance, though I still expect it will be too much on the easy to manage side.

From what everyone says, the 2.0 will come at least two weeks before the expansion. I hope this will give enough time to modders of the essential mods to update for 2.0, so I can have my playthrough of the expansion with already updated mods.

My modded run this year has been the best Cyberpunk 2077 experience I've had, I recommend it to anyone. It's a whole different game with Blackwall + a number of other gameplay/rebalance mods. Much less mindless shooter, more sneaking, intelligent shooting and hacking.

The new perks, I didn't understand too much, but it's natural they will demo the popamole stuff. My 6-year old who was watching the stream with me got very excited over the jump and hammer slam, started acting it out by jumping from the sofa on the ground and hitting the floor with hands. He acts out most of Cyberpunks combat in general. Tells you what kind of audience the game is targeted at.

This guy does a good breakdown of the video, including all the new perks visible during the gameplay footage. It's shorter than the stream, and doesn't contain the two annoying whale-dusas/community managers:

Watched a bit more.

~39:40

"I don't know, I was playing and I was just randomly driving and trying to get rid of the police, and the more I tried getting rid of them, the more were showing up, so I actually reached MaxTac this way but I just wanted them to leave me alone."

"What's the search loop for the police? [...] I know you can run away from them but you have to just run and run and run..."

Thank you, CDPR girls, for asking the pertinent question. Let's see what CDPR guy has to say...

"We try to strike the balance of the realism but also the agency of trying to get out of this [...] internally we call it the Pac-Man game [...] this would be familiar with that kinda thing there [...]"

Oh.

P.S.

~45:12

"We actually have a cool question from out Twitch chat - so we can run from the police, we can fight with the police, but can we bribe them?"

"... No." [Everyone laughs] "Oh, sorry, I was just looking at the awesome buttons on screen, so what's the next question?"

Yeah, I know, good game design cracks me up too.

Pac-man describes that wonderful GTA system well. I love having to find a deserted street and wait there until a timer counts down to zero, especially as an augmented cyborg mercenary who has a facial recognition scrambler.

Exactly what I was going to say. Ofc the guy won't go out in the red stream (Wonderful methaphor for the community managers btw, red, stream) and say "we made it like GTA V".

Pac man has been GTA's gameplay for escaping police since forever, and once what was the map became the perspective of the minimap only, the rest became 3d, it came to resemble exactly pac man.

Yeah, thank god for the ultra-intelligent community manager who decided to pick an extra-uncomfortable question, but at least being corporate employees, they've all mastered the art of the forced laughter.

If they had the culture, they would have replied "there is a mod for that". They could have integrated it though.

Really wish they would've shown any other perk choices than the "terminator build". I get that's what they were going for and it does look... more unique... than the base gameplay that's in right now, but man it looks SO boring. The enemies already feel like they're shooting you with peashooters, giving the player even more hp regen/stats/whatever while you slowly inch closer to them just makes it more obvious how little else they have going for them. The jump and throwing people around did look fun at least. And I'm curious about being able to use melee weapons while on your bike too.

Then: "CP police is worse than even GTAs! What a shitshow."
Now: "CP police is just a cheap GTA clone" Better, but still bad for 2023."

Reminder, Lego City is still the better city simulator.

Anyone that seriously focuses on the issue of police in CP2077 is a Grade A Retard.

It's true. I had 87 hours and the only time I fought the police was for a side gig where they were camping the quest objective. I assume the police mechanics were intended for the online multiplayer component and got shelved when it was canned

Did anyone actually play this game and what were your thoughts about it?
300 hours, since day 1. It's passable as an interactive movie, if you accept the cheesy "always take it to the edge" delivery. AFAIK that style is intended. The open world is worth exploring if the movie has done enough to immerse you in the atmosphere. With mods, it becomes a competent open world shooter with RPG elements. There is fun to be had, if you accept that much of it depends on you, whether you create it for yourself.

I watched youtube videos of someone playing, which is practically the same as playing it. I gave this game 2 thumbs down and thought it was a complete disaster. It's is right up there with Ultima 9 and Superman 64 and Wizardry 8 and diablo 4 and diablo 3 and mechwarrior 5 and mario brothers 1 and that D&D game for the atari 2600

It's not a terrible game by any means, just painfully mediocre against what was expected of it. It's very pretty and cinemo0oOtic and the combat can be fun, but RPG progression and itemisation were awful, and exploration is hampered by very superficial interaction systems. The writing can be occasionally engrossing, but quest design and agency are very disappointing overall. Them's your cliffnotes.

You might say it's... *dons sunglasses*... all style over substance. Objectively a 3/5, worth checking out at some point but nothing to write home about, which is a big waste of all the hype and budget.

No 3rd person was a good decision, very forward-thinking considering VR. If CDPR were really short on time, they should have BSed most of the branching storylines using text messages and voiceover instead of full cutscenes and then filled in the montages with DLC, but turning the game into linear Far Cry instead makes going back and implementing all that cut content impossible. What a shame
