what settings are you playing on? this screenshot has that "unreal engine 4" look to it which makes me want to puke

I feel like putting this game down until they fix a lot of bugs and performance

It's too high contrast, and it's the mark of UE slop. That screenshot hurts my eyes if I look at it for more than 0.5 seconds.

I agree any next-level game will have to out-skyrim Skyrim. But that would take Pyramids of Giza levels of slavery.

I'm confused why anyone would think this.

Just a dead simple perusal of AAA:

>450 employees at Bethesda (full time, with health and dental and 401ks and Starfield is what they come up with)
More than 1000 for GTA V.
Over 5,000 for Cyberpunk.

So it's not terribly confusing why someone would come to that conclusion. I'm not saying its efficient. I'm just saying it's reality.

None of it matters anyway, this model will fall over and die right before our eyes (if it's not doing so already). My money is on the small teams, with talented people, singular vision, merit-based, probably a svengali or two and leveraging AI to the hilt. I haven't seen it yet, but I know it's coming.

there's a lot of neat little references to past Pillars of Eternity games, a lot of them obvious but some of them small

game is just undercooked, not looking good for Outer Worlds 2

WOW really? A game that is set in the same universe as other 2, has "neat little references" to previous games? That is truly ground braking. Obsidian has nailed it yet again.

Sad in a way all this. Old Obsidian would've obviously improved on Skyrim if they were to make their own version.

This crap, however, is considerably worse than Skyrim. Combat is better, vistas are better. Script is about as horroribly shit. Exploration is actually okay but worse than Skyrim.

Personally i hated Skyrim and I feel similarly about this. So mission successfully failed.

I finally remember what game this reminds me of: Kingdoms of Amalur. It's got that same cheap cartoony look, empty lifeless environments, and piss easy gameplay. Also extremely shallow. These games could almost be twins.

This is the most lifeless, soulless, corporate goyslop I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot. It's actually impressive, in a way.
