I was hoping for a new masterpiece by Prosper and instead we end up with a whispering bint lying in a pile of pillows.

I was promised the next big thing but the only thing I received was massive disappointment.

Well, I'll keep an eye out for it. Rue Valley looks more promising though. About Esoteric Ebb I'm kinda dividded, although it's mainly due to the art style I guess.

I'm very into cock and ball torture
Impressive how the voice actress managed to annoy me with her delivery in just 30 seconds of the trailer, I had to pause the video at 0:32. The original version of Disco Elysium without full voice acting was 100% better too, no need to voice every line, especially if the voice acting is trash.
This, full voice acting is pretty much always cancer.

It’s worth noting that neither Robert Kurvitz, the lead writer and designer of Disco Elysium and founding member of ZA/UM, nor Aleksander Rostov, who was art director on Disco Elysium, are involved with either studio. Both were fired from ZA/UM in 2022 amid allegations of mismanagement and misconduct. Kurvitz and Rostov are reportedly making a new game of their own at a studio called Red Info, which is backed by Chinese internet company NetEase.
So not by the former devs that actually count, got it.

Insiders have told me that this thread will be about the long-awaited sequel to the cult classic RPG, Redaxium.

Redaxium III: A Maze Men Tolerate is built using Unreal Engine 5.5 with a small studio comprised of about 15 people. The studio has recently signed a contract with a publisher who owns the IP rights to a "significant yet long dormant" franchise. Interestingly, Redaxium 3 will take place in this IP, while still retaining its own identity. It will feature most of the mechanics and design philosophies espoused by the prequels, but brought up to modern day standards. The publisher hopes to make a cultural phenomenon out of the game and produce a game "that finally resounds with modern audiences".
I wasn't *that* far off. Same energy.

Besides the fact that the sound of whispering into a mic is similar to nails on a chalkboard or a cat being microwaved, the problem with woman narrators is that I've been trained my whole life to not listen when a girl starts telling me a story so I start daydreaming in about 20 seconds.

And the voice actress here is really bad, who thought that hiring the cheapest voice actress on Fiverr and making her deliver all lines in an ASMR style would be a good idea? This is trash.

This is how good ASMR sounds like:

Also, if your game about Antarctica doesn't feature ADOLF HITLER, I don't even want to hear about it.

Sometimes you don't know how much someone meant before they are gone and without Aleksander Rostov I don't think there is enough appeal to this for me to even try it out to get disappointed by the writing again. The red and green I Ching is a very poor substitute for the lavish illustrations of Disco.

It is funny though that even without Kurvitz they managed to come up with such a bad title. No Truce with the Furies was a mouthful and made most gamers think of furries, whom they were more familiar with than the Erinyes. This new title will make people think it's a porn game, especially with the Nightshift bit, and players with a longer memory will recall BMX XXX as one infamous title being close to it.

From the trailer it also looks painfully derivative. There's something deeply ironic about leftists working on a project that's capitalism's concept of art, serialized production of hollowed out shapes for the sake of having something to put on the market, not willing to take financial risks by creating something new. Every novel idea exploited for another point of reference for copies to be made until they totally lose their appeal and the next genuine artist is found to be leeched off from.

The trailer also shows nude legs in a bed. If it's not a porn game I suspect players are going to be disappointed.

I believe they try to inject leftist politics into the capitalist products, as part of their personal guerilla war against capitalism. That's how they justify their careers to themselves, they may even consider these injections art.

"From former Disco Elysium developers" doesn't mean that much when there are a bunch of new studios claiming links to Disco Elysium developers (three so far - Dark Math, Summer Eternal, Longdue). We shall see which of them has truly learned their lesson from the making of Disco Elysium. On the plus side, this means a potential three new RPGs, which is always nice.
