Doesn't even qualify as doxing because it didn't happen in public.

This is the crux of the problem.

If someone other than a Codex moderator or administrator can gain access to the info that's posted in that private forum, it's no longer private; it's become public. It might only be a small leak, if you will, but if it's one via which Luckmann's real name, and whatever other personal shit was in that blog, are revealed, then that's a legitimate problem.

The other thing is that if DU himself admits that there have been known "rats" in Admin before, then why is anyone's personal, private information ever being posted in there in the first place?

Maybe all of this occurred accidentally. I'm certain Infinitron had no intention of "doxxing" anyone. But doesn't it seem unfair to apply the private info sharing rule to others (DU banning a bunch of people) if non-moderators and non-administrators somehow have access to their private info?

Remember, this entire shitstorm is happening because I banned Kalin for a measly week for shitposting with my name in a news thread (and this after he deliberately antagonized me for weeks with no response on my end).

Maybe, just maybe, folks shouldn't turn every moderation incident on this forum into THE ULTIMATE FINAL BATTLE FOR FREE SPEECH AGAINST THE KIKES?
Well people begin wonder about that shit when you ban only right wing people....

So is it ok to doxx people as long as it's limited to a private area?
Like, say I made a private conversation that included every person on the site sans the mods.

Is this within lawful processing as deemed by law? What is the rationale of sharing that data if it doesn't serve any purpose as quoted within lawful processing realms[transaction processing, payment, taxes, or other state mandated activities]?

Are moderators employees of the company that accept the payments, ie. greg martin enterprise? If not that's a breech of law for sure.

Temporary bans, gerey. And DU can do whatever he pleases with the 'dex since he owns it.
I never thought the day would arrive when I would agree with a commie but you are alright. Free market radicalism and might makes right is the way. The staff can doxx anyone they can get hold of the info of. Personal responsibility lies with the internet user to maintain his anonymity. So invest in a VPN, I don't have any promo codes but they all have summer sales right now.

If someone hacks into the Codex and dumps the hidden forum contents for all to see then that is fair game too. I wonder how much it would cost to hire someone to do that...

"A few others" - and by that you mean literally anyone else that becomes a mod in the future. They can all just go look up the personal information of any user that donated and inform people IRL

I don't think mods have access to your paypal info, just some admins. And well, uh, that was always a risk and always will be a risk. You just didn't think about it until now. :P

You shared personal information that you had no right to have access to.

 If it's on the internet, I have the right to access it.

How am I supposed to interpret this here then? Is Infinitron just being a swell and friendly guy and reminding us that he has access to this kind of information?

EDIT: Also, am I the only one that noticed it's only known leftists and CCP shills that are defending this behaviour?

Just remove the shoutbox. The regulars will move to Discord. Problem solved.
And give them more leeway to hide this kind of shit from us?
Simply put? I don't give a fuck. I know that they have my data. They wanna doxx me? There aint shit I can do about it.
Only losers don't have anything to lose by having their info leaked. Stop being a loser and get yourself a VPN when you have started winning.

I think we might need to rely on opinions from people more level-headed than you are, gayrey.

DU gives the impression he doesn't give a shit about these serious aspects (data privacy laws, etc).

Hmm yet i haven't noticed anyone actually losing them or getting scammed in real life. Clearly the security must be ok if nobody had ended up whining how he owns 150k because he ordered three containers with toilet paper from india.

Well I see by your reply that you at least somewhat agree with me.
To be honest, I'm still thinking about it. I might let it ride a few days while I see what drama transpires, then see what happens.

Mostly because I'm bored.
Bored ? Then add this disclaimer on front page , and enjoy the butthurt:

"We recognize that some of the legacy content available on this website, does not reflect the values of RPGCODEX today. Some older content may reflect ethnic, racial and gender prejudice that were commonplace in American society at that time. These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. Those posts are presented as they were originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. RPGCODEX teaches that diversity is a strength, and we strive to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible. This part of our work will never end."
