Clockwork Knight
Arcane
Playing Dragon Warrior 7 now. I gave up on it when I tried to play it years ago because if takes literally hours before it gets going (almost three hours until the first fight actually, but that's because I like to TALK TO FUCKING EVERYONE and the game stimulates that by having NPCs get new lines all the time), but I'm told the game is fucking long and I'm having great fun now that shit is actually happening anyway. It's funny without going into lulz territory and battles aren't flashy spam-attack-to-win slogs, the difficulty is just right (may require some grinding, but the fast-paced battles make it tolerable). The plot and graphics aren't really anything to write home about, but that's Dragon Warrior Quest for you. Quick review / analysis here
edit: also playing the NES Megamans (halfway through 3 now), but god I didn't remember they were so infuriatingly cheap at times. Later on I plan to continue slogging through the Battle Network spinoffs (fortunately I stopped after finishing MMBN2, and people say 3 is one of the best in the series). The rpg part of it is incredibly basic, but I really like the combat.
