The format of conversations looks fine, but what's up with this art style? Is that Shrek?
I...liked it. Wasteland was always kind of cartoony anyway.
I prefer it from the "realistic" stuff of Bethesda for example

The dialogue format makes sense if you're playing the game on a tv while sitting back on a couch

There's just something very ... Pixar ... about it that strikes me as childish. Or World of Warcraft Orc - not in a good way. Cartoony I could maybe live with; Team Fortress 2 pulls it off for example. But this character blatantly draws so much visual style from things that annoy me.

And really this is a very different direction from Wasteland 2.

On the plus side, watching that scene again ... the voice actor is pretty good.

This is inxile in full console mode... If these fucks had started designing torment now, it would be exactly the same, talking heads everywhere.

The dude in the video looks kinda like a Dick Tracy (the Warren Beatty flick) style intentionally-overdone version of Andre the giant.

1,25 million or so was pre-filled by investors, not by regular backers.

:abyssgazer:

Was there a fan made portraits Kickstarter tier I don't know about? Or is this by the same artist of raptor lady fame?
What is that?

The best part was they didn't feel the need to fix it for the DC

And actually there are a lot of rather good fan portraits.

I wouldn't take the video too literally there. The UI shown was meant to be illustrative, just to give a feel for how the dialog will work. The large text size and stuff is likewise just so it's easy to read when viewed on video, such as on your phone, if it gets embedded somewhere, etc.

blah blah blah the ui is just work in progress blah blah blah plz wait until we change it 7 times and its still shit blah blah blah

Indeed, hiring nobodies and putting them to work in fields they have 0 experience with really pays off.

I think this might be the first time I felt buyer's remorse for something I haven't even been charged for yet.

Seems like I'll probably like the product, but I don't like inXile's current company attitude. I wouldn't have bothered if they weren't offering a physical box. Larian>inXile in my book despite the fact that I'm spending way more on this than D:OS 2.

Hitting the Ground Running!
POSTED: 10/06/2016

Hello Rangers and Exiles,

Nothing is more nerve wracking than launching a crowdfunding campaign, but you have blown us away with your support for Wasteland 3. Only 10 hours into the campaign, and we're already 73% funded with over 9,000 backers! We're overjoyed to be co-funding this game with you and making it happen once again!

We want to thank you for being behind us all the way. And, of course we can't go without thanking our friends from the industry, like Obsidian, Larian, Harebrained, The Brotherhood, OtherSide, Compulsion, Unity and so many others, for lending their voices. The fact that we are working together to lift our games to a higher plateau rather than working against each other is what makes our industry great and it's clear the crowdfunding spirit is still alive.

Keep going the distance, Rangers!

We've also been attentively reading all your comments on the campaign, as well as Facebook and Twitter, and rushing to reply as soon as we can. Keep sending us your questions and we will try to get back to you as soon as we can!

We've received many inquiries about things like future updates, stretch goals and more add-ons – don't worry, we have many details about the game cooking that we'll be discussing shortly. One common question is whether we'll support backing through PayPal, and not to worry, we're working on it and will have news on it as soon as we can.

Thank you,
Brian Fargo - Leader in Exile & the whole team at inXile

Over 10,000 backers and 78% funded by now.

I thought it was obvious that the dialogue window was a mock-up, something work in progress. But the Codex obviously went into FUUUUCK CONSOLES RUIN OUR DIALOGUE WINDOW mode.
