Wasteland 2:

Skyrim with SkyUI:

FFS inXile, you couldn't find a better UI to copy?

People are so obsessed with Skyrim they make remotely similar out to be taken/copied from it. After all Skyrim must have been the first game that could categorize items, right?
If anything, I'm reminded of Fallout New Vegas.

Hi guys...

Some questions and reactions to the lastest gameplay video from gamescom.

1. Why was the AP counter changed from the last video, to the ugly AP counter shown now? Look at the old video from the agricultural center, the AP counter there actually looks really good, with flickering lights and stuff... put that back please.

2. The overall graphics SEEMS to be more fine tuned and neat in the old video from the agricultural center. More attention to detail and more crispiness of the entire environment... the video from the prison seems a little bland, and untuned to the standards of the agricultural video.. especially the indoor areas of the agricultural video were very nicely done.. .. what causes this difference? (Yes I know it's sand environment

3. I REALLY liked the dialogue options changes and the overall voice and dialogue.. ++

4. I liked the music from both videoes.... awesome work guys!

5. I still dislike the typewriter logbook text on the right side... it was more neat in the old video from agricultural center. I don't like the typewriter look.. it kinda doesn't fit with the overall "fallouty" vibe they are going for for a wasteland game even.

6. I'm not TOO sure I actually like the weapon UI and graphics... somehow the green dotted weapon worked for me ... maybe a mixture of those? Or abit more animated weapons menu UI? It seems stale and a little dull.... maybe it's just me

7. Combat seems pretty good.. I like it

I think the "typewriter" is supposed to be representative of a Telex machine or something. Definitely doesn't look right, though. Most of the UI still doesn't. Nice bevel + emboss on the barter inventory graphics.

I'm gonna give the Dying Woman a Goats and combine Farm with Gas Station to beat the Bridge Encounter. Fuck I can't wait.

Compare that to old PST

Looks like straight up trash
So do 95% of all other RPGs compaired to PS:T, so that doesn't says much.
Game looks fine. I prefer the way Fallout 1/2/Tactics looked for example, but that is a problem with W2 lacking in art direction/atmoshere and not graphics

Does anyone know if any of the stuff (possibly) done in the video is deemed unrangerlike and counts against you getting to L.A.? Like massacring goats, killing sick women and popping caps in traders? They're kind of smug that there's no morality counter, but at least with a FO-like karma-meter I could tell whether I was on my way to L.A..:M

would be cool if at the end of each mission you'd have a debriefing with the general and he'd go all like "around here we do things by the book, ranger!" "Out there there ain't no book man! You're living it cozy up here, while we're getting put in the grinder out there, man!" and then you'd get to go to L.A. if you had enough Hard Ass.

Probably not. It's not about being a goody two-shoes but enforcing the law and helping people, and there's enough room in that to do shit your own way. Or at least I hope so

So what you are saying is that the game should react to what you do? feels like at least that theyve got covered, but to what degree.. That we cant know till we play it.

Okay, but those would still exclude killing the trader and the sick wife and her husband (seriously, you try explaining that situation to your superior officer). Would be cool if the Ranger Code was this Judge Dredd type thing where it's all about order (to the trader: "you're blocking the road, citizen", *pop*), but it's probably a more goody two shoes type thing with some leeway (maybe it only gets counted if you My Lai the entire map of friendlies or something).

Simon Jodocus Cat Great video all in all, so looking forward to it and happy to have backed it.

Kind of a bitter pill were the first 7 minutes, though, which managed to pull two totally unnecessary gender trope/stereotypes that I would not have expected after what I read about how gender was going to be handled in this game.

So, first you show off a brute force fail by a woman. Totally unncessary, any other male member of the group could have been the one to fail and why not have a strongwoman on the team that makes the men look weak?

Second one was a trope that - especially with all the awareness that one should have thanks to Feminist Frequency lately - I was not expecting. First you tell us about the multitude of options we have in that situation, and then you kill that woman. I see nothing wrong in having that option (and if it fits the characters you play, also a viable one), yet showing off of all things exactly THAT option... that's like a sucker punch to anyone fed up with stereotypes and worn out, harmful tropes that cheats us of positive and fully developed characters of both sexes. And that's clearly not what I gave you my money for. I can only hope that this was unfortunate, but not a taste of things to come in that regard.
HOW CAN YOU DO THIS IN THE POST-SARKEESIAN WORLD
