No probs there, it can freely slow down a bit after this.
Fargo seems like a too good a player not to be on top of this all the time and expecting and already having plans to keep the interest high.
This first day will surely bring him more media exposure even from fucktards that avoided it so far and after that its to updates, upgrading rewards, releasing details or art and so on.

Now I'm worried that everyone will be too burned out of cash by the time MCA kickstarts his little bastard and it will be left alone like a real bastard child.

Depends on how much you're willing to donate. If it's $100 or at least close to that, then it sure will make a difference.

How do you mean it "will"? Yes, I'm thinking $100 or maybe more; no, not really. I don't know how many people there are like me but $5000 is a long way from $~1500 for a small forum like this. Unless you mean one of you had a private chat with Fargo and he said something like "I might make an exception for you guys, let's wait and see (but I want nekkid pictures of all natural born female posters)"...

He did say it's negotiable. *wink wink*

Personally -- this is by no means official -- I believe he may be able to give us a shrine even if we fall short of the $5000 mark. We must collect at least 4000 to negotiate that, though -- and we have a month to go. So please donate. :P

Fargo stated that
If your group puts 5k together I will find a way to make sure there is a shrine for a codex shrine or something else if you have a clever idea. I'm am quite flexible and I know at the end of the day I really want groups like yourselves to be happy with this game.
Since the shrine is part of the 10k pledge, he's already come down in price :P
Even if the codex only managed to raise 2.3k, I'm pretty sure we could get a location and a "Codex of all Evil" interactive-item out of it. And your donation, vots, may tip the balance so that the location just happens to feature a crumbling statue that has an uncanny resemblance to the codex troll...

I'm sure MCA is smart enough to time it right. Let the wool regrow before taking the shears to it.

That and i don't think Obsidian would submit anything to funding unless they have at least detailed and coherent design documents.

All right monocled gentlemen, ladies or whatever. I'm willing to use some of my (extremely limited) funds to support this project.

The problem is I have no idea how. I'm trying to do it through amazon, but without success. I've never bought anything on line before - please don't laugh (too hard). I just never found the idea of giving my credit card data on the internet particulary appealing.

I keep getting stuck at the Billing Address: "There was a problem with your input. Please try again." How fucking useful. Does anyone know what a hell am I doing wrong? Are the non-english characters the problem? If there is somebody here from the sinkhole known as Croatia that has managed this, please tell me how to fix this before I give up.

I'm not from Croatia, but you should input your Billing Address in English, yeah. Avoid non-standard symbols.

Kickstarter uses "Amazon Payments". Also, from the wiki page:

Kickstarter takes 5% of the funds raised; Amazon charges an additional 3-5%
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kickstarter

Money leeching scums got each ~$150K from DoubleFine's ~$3.3M. They're making money just sitting around.

The problem is you're trying to pay through Kickstarter. You're supposed to donate to the glorious Codex.

Kickstarter "Back this project" sends me to amazon login. Is that a problem for some reason?

Edit:

I'm not from Croatia, but you should input your Billing Address in English, yeah. Avoid non-standard symbols.

Thanks mate. That did it. At least I hope everything will go all right in 34 days.

What a crybaby. I'll donate alright, it will have to wait another day.

By the way, even now, W2 seems to be a raging success for Kickstarter statistics. From the wiki page again:

W2 not yet in the list but look at those numbers... Amazing for a "niche" game project to even make it in under 24 hours.

Printrbot is interesting. More than 800,000 raised with only about 1800 backers.

In contrast, Wasteland 2 already has more than 9000 backers but are nowhere near 700,000 yet.

Pledge to double what Vots donates then.

I dont have a CC and an Amazon account and thus cant help Kickstart it. Therefore created an account here and donate some money for the RPGCodex funding.

61% done.

Should end up on a bit more than 6K today i think, maybe even 7K although that might be stretching it.

Just looked at the printrbot page, you had to pledge at least $499 to get the complete product. So it's in a completely different price range than a computer game.
