What a body blow this must be to the r00fler and his trololol companions. The rate it's going, Wasteland will reach it's target on the second or third day. By the end of the 34 days they'll have a budget that would make Bioware salivate...well maybe not quite that big but still...

Now all that needs to be done is constant tweet spamming MCA with by the minute updates and the byline: "This could be Planescape 2"...

That concept art convinced to me to put down an additional fifty dollars, this time in the name of Unyielding, Stainless Codexia.

Hopefully more relatives die off so that I can survive the cold winter.

EDIT: Now, if the game disappoints, I too can suffer from cognitive dissonance. Or some other such psychobabble nonsense. I'll start caring about psychology terms when psychologists stop interpreting statistics and calling that science.

If this whole Wasteland 2 shit proves to be a success, I want Fargo to buy the rights to Dragon Wars from Activision and create Dragon Wars 2. Unlike Wasteland 2 I don't want it to be switched to top down tactical combat, but rather keep it blob style (for diversity). They can spend their time designing a really awesome system that beats Wizardry 8's (and with less combat of course). That would be a massive incline for the industry on all levels.

:yeah:

I haven't been this excited for a fucking game project since the 90's. Even if the actual game doesn't meet expectations, I pray that the funding of it is a success and MCA, JVC, DWB can go back to what they once did well(DWB in particular declined horribly when he strayed from the path of the blobber and poor old JVC...).

Getting so much on the first day also helps with getting the word out. Portals will cover the "Sequel to some old game from the 80's gets half a million on the first day" story and raise awareness and interest in funding among people.

TB IS COMING BACK PEOPLE!!!! NOW IT'S TIME FOR THE BLOBBER!!!!

YOU HEAR THAT BELL POPAMOLE RPG'S? IT TOLLS FOR THEE!!!!

I suggest everyone donates at least $25-30 towards the statue/shrine! $10-15 is a bit too low -- too many people needed to reach $5,000! C'mon, it's not that much, just save on food or something. :P

Someone should send this image to Fargo

Wasteland_Bond.jpg

Just tweeted this to Fargo!

There are only 8 slots left, and they may all be gone by this time next week, so it's now or never.

Not necessarily. After all, Fargo has already promised us a shrine if we collect $5000, and I believe that should hold even if the tier is sold out. We'll reach an agreement, I'm sure. He's a positive guy.

IMHO this would look good next to the GOG and Merchandise banners...

This. DU should make this happen!

do i do upgrade or anonymous?

Doesn't matter -- everything goes to the Codex shrine fund.

Gave 500 to Schafer, thinking about pledging 1k now to Fargo... dear God what have I done!

Be sure to donate at least $100 towards the statue, then! C'mon, you can afford it.

I pledged 116$ using prepaid card, no problem.

Now do the same for the statue. :)

would have given $50

Do it. Just do it.

:rpgcodex:

Anyway, I want to donate to Codex to help with the effort but it's already over $1000, enough for NPC/location/item spot and I don't want to donate for nothing without knowing for certain that we will hit $5000

Depends on how much you're willing to donate. If it's $100 or at least close to that, then it sure will make a difference.

This is just unbeliavable, I have never been so excited about a game project in my short life, I haven't even played Wasteland (don't worry, it's on my schedule) and I'm so fucking nuts about this project.
I'm a poorfag highschooler so I'm going to donate 65$ for the boxed game and PROPABLY something for the majestic codex statue. This is almost too good to be true :tearofaneagle:

It seems as its finally slowing down a little bit, which is expected. Still, impressive result for the first day (not over yet).

Yeah it's slowing down but the money is still dripping in at a constant reate. 522 K already. I guess it should reach 650-700 k in the next 24 hours

They'll definitely need to release some (edit: more, juicy, etc) details in a couple of weeks, once interest is flagging. Still, at this rate I'm quite optimistic they'll hit 900k... we aren't even at the weekend yet.

How do you mean it "will"? Yes, I'm thinking $100 or maybe more; no, not really. I don't know how many people there are like me but $5000 is a long way from $~1500 for a small forum like this. Unless you mean one of you had a private chat with Fargo and he said something like "I might make an exception for you guys, let's wait and see (but I want nekkid pictures of all natural born female posters)"...
