i've been playing the closest competition lately, destiny 2. the game IS the grind. weapon drops are random, weapons are random, they can have up to 3 different perks which vary from "absolutely useless, actually detrimental" to "you can't live without this", with abundance of the former, so even if you just spent weeks, even months (not kidding) to have a specific weapon it could still be absolutely unusable.
there's crafting, not every weapon can be crafted, in order to unlock the crafting of a single weapon you have to drop 4-5 of them with a specific modifier, which is extremely rare and at the moment not even clear how and where to get it. the pool is wide enough you might actually never unlock stuff.
the most important part is: 99% of the weapons are just "click and deal damage straight in front of you", it's a collection of hitscan guns, it's absolutely not even slightly anywhere near warframe's variety of arsenal.

Pathfinder: Wrath
which pretty much no one asked for.

You've forgotten just how loud the normies squealed when Steve walked outside the city in Eidolon when they first showed this crap off. Static sandbox lets them be even lazier and most people are too busy fishing or relocating animals or whatever dumb shit they have people doing now to notice. I finally gave up after I became bored with Railjoke. I had no interest in farming Kuva Liches for a hundred years to get a slightly better version of a gun that'd probably nerfed in the next update and I didn't care about the not-dreadnoughts they tried to push on people with...I can't even remember what the hell the newest sandbox is called with the pod people, I only played it for about a week and then quit.

Or just farm it. I've already two Hildryn pieces building in the foundry.

If you have that kind of money to throw around for stuff like that, go ahead. There isn't really anything interesting in the current prime access. Who cares about an archgun or the third variant of a sentinel nobody uses.

Hildryn Prime herself is a different thing. She will be one of several frames where I'll probably have the prime variant before I get the normal one.

"local" content is *ALWAYS* going to be abandoned, especially if you keep churning out more local content elsewhere. the only addition which ever made sense were the acolytes. content should be added "on top", not "by the side".
i don't count weekly quests whatstheirname because they came with the most retarded lore+retcon ever (and considering the average warframe content is already drowning in retardation, it's quite a feat). also because they're not really content.

Is she any good? I've read that she uses her shields to power her specials instead of an energy bar, which sounds interesting but can easily be either shit or busted.

Hmm, I probably wouldn't use her as one of my first frames. She seems to be good though, mostly in support roles, but can do everything. Her casting speed is a bit low, but that only matters at high levels. Most people replace her 4 via Helminth. On the other hand, her Helminth ability, Pillage, is probably more popular than the frame itself.

I don't have the normal Hildryn, as her blueprint is available from Vox Solaris at level 2, and I have to farm more Familial Bonds to reach level 5 with Solaris United first before I can start with Vox Solaris. I don't really like Orb Vallis bounties. Who knows, you may be further than I am there, given you already farmed the Yareli blueprint, which I don't have, either.

Edit: Just for fun, here's last year's overall frame popularity list: https://www.warframe.com/2022stats

Next week, we will get the special 10-Year Anniversary Devstream:

The stream itself is supposed to drop an archon shard, but the longtime players expect a few more goodies, like the typical anniversary weapons. Maybe a skin like what's on the screen? I guess I'll see.

I looked it up, and yes, everything on that pic is old stuff. The Excalibur Dex skin is from 2018, the Wisp one from 2022, the Dex Furis from 2014, and the Dex Sybaris from 2016. At least it doesn't matter for me, as I've been only playing for a few months now, which means any of those items would be new for me. I wonder whether they will have anything new for their longtime fanbase.

Sure, but what I meant is that they had at least one new actual item every anniversary, if I see that correctly. They downgraded that from stuff that gives you something tangible (weapons and slots) to cosmetics. What's the natural development from there? A glyph? They already had a noggle once...

There were only 3 "tangible" items: one melee, one primary, and one secondary weapon. They were for the first three anniversaries. Everything beyond that was just cosmetic stuff.

Yes, but do I understand it correctly that you at least get the three slots that come with these weapons every year? I think that was what talan was referring to.

Cosmetics are subjective, but I mentioned noggles for a reason, and the 2019 reward was one. I always find it absurd whenever they say stuff like "everyone loves noggles". No, I certainly don't. Other items they like to hand out lately are, how are those called, commemorative plaques/ribbons/slap-on-your-wall-thingies? Ugh. I dumped a few things into my - useless - "personal quarters" for some cheap Nightwave credit, but that's about it.

dude, warframe has been steady, pure decline for years already, you're asking too much.
I'm sure we will have to test some Soulframe mechanics first before they call it a day. When they mentioned that Duviri animal conservation would be "different" and spoke of petting animals (truly thrilling...), I couldn't help but think about what little they showed of Soulframe.

Looks like they spread the rewards across several months with new alerts every two weeks that are supposed to go on till Tennocon, which is in August.
https://www.warframe.com/anniversary

Starting with a noggle... :smug:
All old stuff of course.
Lots of weekend boosters though.

Oh, and I nearly forgot: the "big" anniversary thing is delayed till end of August, and it is *drum roll* a drifter skin.
I don't know what to say...

Well, I guess they want to keep their promise that the Duviri Paradox will release in April.

The promo code Duviri-Furze gives you a color palette, a Hikou (w/ slot + potato) and two mods.

I admit the code is funnier in German.

The Public Chat informed me that in addition to Duviri-Furze :

Duviri-Styanax
Duviri-Excalibur

... will also give stuff. Those last two are boosters and some knicknack nonsense. But it is FREE nonsense!

Yes, the affinity boosters are the big thing (together ten days). The Braton gives you another weapon slot. Such a waste of a catalyst. Maybe, they want you to go for the Braton incarnon you will be able to farm in Duviri.
