i like life gain so whip and garlic are auto included for me. Also garlic protects you from ranged attacks. Its only annoying when you dont see garlic early and keep getting it late game

Garlic is okay early game, but gets outpaced in damage by other things pretty early. And it actually has more nuance than might be realized.

When turned into the Soul Eater, the damage output is based on how much healing you receive from it. So, the best strategy in that case is to try and take as much damage as possible and keep healing, and avoid damage reduction items. It's still not that great, though. (I'll caveat this with I haven't played in the past month, and I know there have been a few updates, so things may have been rebalanced.)

No, it still is a "trap" in a way. Garlic doesn't "scale" to late game in normal situations.

But then again, the late game is such a clusterfuck that it is hard to really say anything about it. My last run ended when I was playing with... one of the magic girls you rescue from wooden boxes. All weapons evolved, nothing had been able to touch me at all for ten minutes straight.

Then a boss spawned on top of me and I died instantly. GG.

Apparently garlic has some synergy with the clock lancet, making it easier to freeze enemies first hit by the garlic. Not sure how this'll affect the toughest enemies in the game.

So, I too, did the thing.

But I didn't know I had to pick up the Great Gospel...

So pissed off by the fact, I did another run and won second time in a row. Cheesing even harder this time.

I've been giving Silent Old Sanctuary paired with the Mindbender a shot, and it's pretty neat. +100% damage and -40% cooldown makes even the most meh weapons cut a swathe through your enemies. Sure if you don't have the right one you'll get your ass kicked near the end of a run, but you'll go far if you play your cards right.

Now I feel downright silly for doing the hard acheevos before getting the Great Gospel...

Nice, but not quite it.

Could you make it even more OP?

New update, new characters. One is pretty easy to get, the other you'll need a guide for. Also revisit the Bone Zone to find a new relic that'll unlock a new menu.

bu... but... I already beat the game.

:rage:
It's still in early access and the game's not done yet, so you haven't beaten it yet. Though from what I've seen so far the new stuff shouldn't be THAT difficult to beat. Aside from unlocking that one character that is.

Also the tree is surprisingly fun to play as.

Boon Marabio seems like an interesting character.

If you put exactly one point into projectile speed, then all your projectiles will stand completely still. Boon marabio has -110% innate projectile speed.

I'm sure there are interesting things that can be done with this. Like fill the map with bullets that hover around you for protection.

Max out Omni and don't take any Speed upgrades or pick up the Bracers, that way you'll start at -100% while getting the most out of your stats.

I tried out "limit breaks" for the first time today.

It makes the game so ungodly easy it's ridiculous.

I bet I could hit level 300 with limit breaks.

Here's a run I just did to unlock the new character.

I think I might have used too much "area boost" with the limit break.

Ok, so I tried out the new character.

She seems overpowered, but I guess the one negative aspect of the character is she can't pick up golden eggs.

Her benefits far outweigh any golden egg farming nonsense though. She starts with 120 banishes, 120 skips, and 120 rerolls. You can essentially pick whatever weapons and passive items you want, there is no need to hope for the RNG God's to smile upon you.

She also gets more than 3 randomazzo cards and you get to pick 3 of them in the first 5 minutes of the game without the need for a chest, the screen simply pops up and lets you choose a card.

Anyhow, my first attempt with this character I reached level 904.

A couple of pictures below

I had a gold fever last for 5 minutes and made nearly 50k gold, the only reason it ended was I picked up an item that freezes monsters right after I had my gorgeous moon weapon hit, so I couldn't get coins fast enough to replenish the timer. This character will be good for farming massive amounts of gold, but I'm sure there will be some play testing required to figure out the best strategy for this.

If you want a picture to compare for the xp gain for this character, the screenshot below is from 29:47 and I was level 807. At 30:00 I was level 904.

Also, so much fireballs I didn't even know what was going on. Area and Might gain from limit break is crazy.

Anyways, here is the tale of the tape. Keep in mind this is my first naive attempt at this character and I reached level 904. If I had chosen the clock lancet instead of the fire wand, I probably could have taken on a dozen reapers tbh. The new character "phases out" for 10 or so seconds at a time and takes no damage from anything, giving plenty of time to freeze enemies.

I think I need a small fun, short-session game like this.

What is the consensus? Is this the best of this kind?

The goal is to have your session last 30 minutes, after which you die. But this is also the kind of game you boot up for a round or two and suddenly it's five hours later.
