How do you keep dying so early lol
I think a hybrid system could work well. Reduce combat XP, but not so much that it's irrelevant. Make oddities give decent chunks of XP. Combat XP will represent experience gained from practice and learning how to handle enemies. Oddity XP will represent exploration and accumulated knowledge of the world. And of course quests should give nice chunks of XP, representing your achievements. Personally I don't want a "level skills as you use them" system because those are very hard to balance and often lead to having to grind to keep certain skills relevant. The supposed realism advantage doesn't mean much because such a system comes with its own set of unrealistic nonsense. You're three meters tall and armed to the teeth, but you can't intimidate this scavenger because you weren't consistently rude to townspeople. You can't craft this ancient rathound leather outfit because you didn't craft three hundred regular rathound leather outfits. Both Classic and Oddity give xp to players that complete quests/missions. Beyond that, the problem with Classic is that the player earns xp only through combat, while with Oddity only through exploration (with rare instances of combat). They both feel limited in their own way.
Yes and I read some opinions on both to understand the difference and Oddity fans were saying things like " its better than Classic because you dont need to grind enemies to advance and you need to explore more to gain XP "Yeah I prefer Classic as well, Oddity feels more like a way for experienced players to challenge themselves
I havent had that issue because I am using crossbow, grenades, psi and then some melee for close combatThe economic system in this game is harsh. If you repeatedly fight respawning enemies, you will find yourself unable to afford ammo. Grinding for melee characters is possible, but it is still not as efficient as challenging new non-respawning enemies. Even in xp mode, grinding is not as efficient as doing quests to gain xp and money.
The only downside to the xp mode is that pickpocketing offers very little benefit.
myself im part of laz0r master race, but i do respect chem pistols for how cheap feat-wise they are and cc that they provide.Chem pistols are not good at bursting out large amounts of damage in one turn. Fortunately, chem pistol build has many free feat slots, so it is recommended to also acquire energy pistol feats.
bots are indeed easy. However be aware that nagas take a while to beat anyway. Its better to just keep running and be immune to their beams.it's still difficult to deal with enemies that are immune to entanglement (naga and industrial bots).
Yes and I have only used some tools because of my buildThis is what's nice about having lots of tools available
I have to stop reading this thread, it just triggers me into starting another dom run.
if you are looking for confirmation of rumor you can try wiki first... https://www.stygiansoftware.com/wiki/index.php?title=Fragmented_ChaosNot going o join off discord for that.
Congratulations. I pretty much always carry TNT with me, both to get rid of rocks if necessary, and because it's a way to create a distraction far away from you. It can come in handy if you're trying to pull off some particularly tricky stealth feats. In my last run I avoided killing pretty much every savage I could while sneaking around their camps to take out their leaders. My character was hoping that the savages would become more peaceful over time with their leaders and other influences gone. Didn't exactly work.I threw a grenade at the top of the stairs on level 2 and that caused most of the Gray officers to investigate and I was able to stealth past the remaining officers and finally get the keycard and complete the Juice quest so now I can rift walk

That reminds me; if you leave an area where enemies are alerted or searching for you, do they remain that way forever or do they eventually return to their positions? I've never tested it.
That's why you level up throwing. You don't need to invest it in completely, just up to like 60 effective skill or something. That should give you enough accuracy to not give yourself a darwin award. My shotgun @ just clumsily dropped cocked grenade under her feet in that house where misterious disk is, after she 3-turned plasma sentry with first crafted shotgun, and was intended to disarm the mines... oh well... I guess once in a while it could happen..
Rest in piss Slutty Shotty, lvl 8...
Grey Army base is amazing if you know what you're doing, a pain in the arse if you don't.I had a very interesting quest outcome yesterday
Firstly I am enjoying this game so much I bought and installed the DLC Expedition and that added new quests and other components
But I dont know what is new or old quests. I decided to pursue the Dude quest and Juice and I ended up in the Gray Army base, I worked out I could find a Gray Officer uniform and avoid most questioning but my lockpick and persuade is too low and I couldnt stealth past the Gray officers where the keycard is to find the mechanical oil
They kept questioning me and then not believing me and then attacking me
I tried about 12 times using stealth but I kept running into officers in the passage to get to room where the keycard is
I was about to quit and restore back to before this last part of the quest started and then go back later when my lockpick was higher but I thought let me try one more strategy
I threw a grenade at the top of the stairs on level 2 and that caused most of the Gray officers to investigate and I was able to stealth past the remaining officers and finally get the keycard and complete the Juice quest so now I can rift walk
Never expected this outcome but Im very happy and I avoided combat completely in the Gray Base![]()

Having high persuasion skill makes it trivial as you can just bluff your way through the checkpoints.
Who doesn't?!I want to go back to the Gray Base later when Im on higher level and wipe them out![]()
