The game premise reminds me of the FrankTrollman posts about the how alignments are inane and relative in role playing games.

Different shades of evil? If everyone is evil, how can anyone be evil in the game? Sounds like a ham-fisted gimmick, but because I'm an Obsidian cuck like most of you I'm willing to at least give it a chance.

Setting reminds of Dark Sun a lot. I'm very interested, although I wish they had a gameplay trailer for it.

This sounds pretty nice from what we know - isometric crpg, hopefully meaty rpg systems. I am going to assume Tim Cain had something to do with this since it looks good and is a crpg. He is one of the few devs you can trust implicitly. If he has a hand in something's creation it is a must buy for all crpg fans.

Notice that archer shooting 16+ flaming arrows at once. I think we're going to see a cooler, slicker, more next-gen approach to combat than in PoE.

Paradox PR did their research. They know TB x RTwP is very controversial and wanted to avoid it in the aftermath of the announcement.

Feargus quote from the press release:

“Four years ago, we hoped the world wanted to be reacquainted with classic, story-rich RPGs. As it turned out, the answer to that was an emphatic ‘yes,’” said Feargus Urquhart, CEO of Obsidian Entertainment. “Since then, there’s been a renaissance in RPGs thanks to games like Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2, Divinity: Original Sin and others. What’s incredible is that we’ve been able to continue evolving the types of RPGs we make since Obsidian was founded in 2003. With Tyranny, we love the twist we’ve put on the world which started with the premise ‘What if evil already won?’ Coupled with that is our ongoing dedication to giving our players games full of choice and consequence. Games they can play not just once, but many times.”

Meh. Summer Sale 2017.

Also why no info about gameplay? Just some crappy trailer and a few screenshots without a UI. Lame.

I noticed that this tweet only has one Like so far, so it's probably news to the Codex:

Man that is some seriously bad teaser. I dunno if it would be possible to make the stained glass window look much crappier, or to make the VO more "generic nerd with an artificially lowered voice"-ier. Paradox is definitely flying coach on it.

Sounds promising. Definitely more so than Pillars of Eternity.

Apparently Paradox owns the trademark on this thing? That's... interesting.

Oh, come to think of it, this shares some themes with Seven Dragon Saga. I wonder how TSI would react to this.

If Obsidian becomes a dev-slave to Paradox then I am no longer a Swedish supremacist--hopefully this is a mutually independent and fair undertaking.

Cheers to Obsidian for taking a risk on creating a new PoE-style game before a PoE sequel. The art, website, and announcement were way off unfortunately.

Also, as much as I love Tim Cain let's not think that everything he works on turns to gold. Instead he is sure to leave before a bad game is released.
