TR: The Last Revelation is the best TR, followed by the original TR and TR3.

TR2 had a lot of uninspired locations, even though at first the game seemed like a major improvement. Three levels at oil rig, followed by three levels at a sunken ship. From the first four games, I enjoyed TR2 the less.

Have yet to finish Chronicles someday.

Finished it - 5/10. Parts of it were really enjoyable and eventually I actually had to try not to die in some fights, which is well.. better than it was at the start. Didn't bother with side content, just followed main mission. Even though QTEs get significantly reduced in later game, they're still very much there. It even had to end on the QTE, right after the proper boss fight. For fuck's sake, if you really wanna show me a cool cutscene, then fucking do it, don't make me pretend I'm actually doing stuff during it. Funny thing is that game already looks cinematic enough during actual gameplay, thanks to its rather cool camera, but no, that's just not enough for developers. There are even bits where you have to run with shit collapsing behind you and it starts with game making Lara run for you and at some point you have to take over control but game doesn't bother letting you know when exactly - not cool. I guess using simple shit like black bars to indicate when you're actually watching a cutscene is not immersive enough. At some point they'll have to decide what it is they want to actually do with games and I hope it comes sooner rather than later.
Worth playing for free or getting it on insane discount, but fuck you if you're gonna buy this at full price.

I found 3 to be rather weak in comparison, too. The Last Revelation is definitely the best TR of them all (dose Karnak and Alexandria levels... so fucking good) but TR1's Greek levels are probably my favourites in the entire series.

Yeah, I got it from the bay. It was okay at times, but it really isn't a Tomb Raider game. It's the story of how Nathan Drake grew a vagina.

I liked the game more when it was going to be a survival-horror game.

I find the game fairly enjoyable. Don't tell me people here actually were fans of the original series? It's, like, the only popamole I've bothered to pick up again and have fun with in months. This is a far cry from the worst the popamole market has to offer.

Thanks to all the nostalgia talk I now installed TR TLR and started playing.

Wow. Slow paced, with emphasize on puzzles and atmosphere. I love it already.

They just don't make games like these anymore nowadays. :(

Got the game dirt cheap thanks to some reward points I had saved up from years ago. Production values seem high however gameplay is fairly basic. It's not a terrible game it just seems fairly standard and decidedly average console fair for 3rd person action games. Also Lara seems to be channeling Vanille from FF13 and sounds like she is masturbating constantly.

I remember playing the first series on ps1 with my mom and aunt,we loved the games and still remember it fondly but somewhere along the line they got farther and farther from platforming parts and got more action game vibe to it.

I will probably buy this for my mom but i before i ask that, can someone told me if this is like uncharted where you press repeatedly to climb a mountain without thinking and fight endless mobs(god what a shit games that was)
or more like old tomb raiders where exploration came before fights and good exploration mechanics(more thought-out platforms where you have to be careful where and how you jump)

Uncharted is a great game!

Seriously, Uncharted is not guilty about this "ludonarratie dissonance" bullshit. The story and characters don't contradict the story. The hero is an Indinana Jones type of hero from the beginning, being able to handle himself pretty well. Lara in the other hand should be a spoiled rich kid, but suddenly she can kill dozens of grown, armed men.

Uncharted was horrible as game and mediocre as movie(didn't played the third).
No platforms to jump on,no sense of danger when jumping or moving, nothing to think only press the awesome button to see the next screen,no talent required.
Horrible fights, horrible enemies and ai,boring as hell fights that took %90 of playing time.
Cutscene after cutcene that makes mgs series look like a game, over the top action scenes where it's good to seem 3-4 for times but becomes really boring after the 10-15(seriously how many soldiers and helicopters does enemy have)
Only saving grace for the series is great looking places that felt empty and soulles when you explore them.
I didn't spend that much on this shit but even that 15 bucks feels to expensive for this shit.

Played it,finished it and god it was horrible.Gave it to my friends and they couldn't even bothered to finish the game(not paying for this shit makes it harder to find motivation to finish it)
Though worst thing about this game is the fact that it was recommended by codex ps3 thread.:decline:

Uncharted is weak sauce. It really does feel like pushing the awesome button over and over again. Uncharted 2 gets more interesting after the over hyped train sequence. In fact, all the parts the consoletards praise are the weakest parts of the game, except for maybe the tank section That tells a person all they need to know about the audience today.

At least no ludonarrative dilsnicks like Fool Raper.

Yes! If you disliked Uncharted avoid Tomb Raider like plague.
