Yeah, because a variation in body proportions is such a preposterous notion. Take broad shoulders in women, for example. Impossible.

I did never say it is impossible. I did say it is less than perfect. Otherwise it would be pointless to criticize her hair.

Given that a 3D character is not a natural product but a creation it is indeed permisible to criticize such a creation on the basis of the shoddy aesthetical values behind its creation.
Give me an example of a perfect body.

Except the comment about the hair, your whole post (especially the last sentence) had the tone of implying that the character violated some rigid paradigm of "correct" bodily proportions, rather than merely being representative of your aesthetic preferences.

Is that not the Codex' preferred form of discourse, my dear brother? Although Agassi regretfully did not appropriate our favourite fecal imagery as well.

First comment.

what this game is awesome this guy is totally wrong and the only reason lara didn't have trouble killing the 2nd guy or the 3rd was because it would get annoying cut scene after cut scene and the charters where not flat its just that vidiogames you're supposed to do every thing in a vidiogame you're the badass this guy is totally wrong on the multiplayer to because its supposed to be a team death mach multiplayer not a unique one but the story is amazing so don't believe this guy!!!!!!!!

That would have been a great review... except, where was this guy when they were reviewing ME series?

I did speak of a rigid paradigm of 'correct' bodily proportions indeed. Beauty is more about the way in which the shapes and forms and measures do interact with one another to create a harmonious whole, and the... uhm... Bleep, this stuff is hard to explain on english for me. Just as beautiful music can be expressed mathematically so the ideal of 'aesthetic beauty' can: The ideal proportions for bodies, body parts, and faces have been long discovered and codified. Harmony and proportion is the entire core of 'beauty.'

'Personal taste' is an entirely different thing altogether. Just as 'fetishes' are.

What a random question to ask.

'What tasty cake you've baked here but WHERE WERE YOU WHEN ME3 WAS RELEASED? DON'T YOU CARE??!!@?!'

Eh... I was referring to the disproportion of criticism. Suddenly they woke up.

Yes I'm well aware of the so-called ideal body and facial proportions as dictated by golden ratios etc. What, then, was your original point? That because the character deviated from these ideal proportions that the design was therefore invalid? The comment "trust in men to lack even the barest understanding of proper proportions ..." strongly implied this train of thought.

Anyway, this discussion is getting very OT. Back to complaining about mouth-breathing TR fans :kingcomrade:

Thanks for reminding me that I have TR: Anniversary on Steam, never played. Sounds like it should be a good nostalgia trip.

Did you know that I was indirectly responsible for bringing 3D-accelerated Tomb Raider to Matrix Mystique? If not for me, Matrix Mystique owners (both of them) would've been deprived of the experience unless they shelled out money for a 2MB memory module.

Damn I'm old.

I thought this game was open world and was shocked when the podcast I just listened to said it was 80% linear corridors. WTF? Game is more shit than I thought.

So, would you ascribe to the notion that the theory of evolution is incorrect, because it's impossible for a mechanical process to result in the transcendental genius of Phidias?

Despite the first TR, which was released back when dinosaurs walked the earth, which has clunky graphics and awful controls, it was more enjoyable than this atrocious sexist driven nightmare.

When Lara get's a spike through her head, then it all becomes crystal clear. Whoever had that idea, his only life experience was living in his mom's closet, while toying with his winky-dinky.

But, what about something positive? Well, compared to the old outings of Lara Croft, this new installment is as easy to understand as computer manual. And you know what that means.

They should remake it with a male protagonist instead, pursued by a horde of hillbillies with the intent to sodomise him.
