Oh, we remember Colonial Marines. In fact, somewhere earlier in this thread I name it and DNF as the comparison scale for how large of a fuck-up the new Thief game is.

Let's be sensible now. You could literally just hold down sprint and run through most of Colonial Marines without firing or dodging, breaking all the scripted sequences and only getting stopped by the occasional plot-locked door. The enemy AI would routinely just stop working - not as 'enemy acts stupid', but 'enemies just stand motionless where they spawn', and even so it's difficult as hell to complete the game because of the game-stopping bugs.

There's a hell of a difference between a game being shitty, and a game not functioning. Big Red Rigs isn't going to be pipped for worst game anytime soon.

Now that you mention it, Thief might have ONE redeeming feature - I'd love to see birgirpall do a "Let's Break" video of Thief.

Dramatically saving chicks seems like a hit nowadays, with Halo being exemplary in that regard. The story of poor girls with some powerz is probably considered very deep by console standards, as there are also Deus Ex with tortured womyncomputers, Bioshock and Dishonored.

"Waifu protection games" are a full blown genre at this point.

Yes, saving a damsel in distress is a totally new, never-before-seen in Western culture phenomenon. A male (anti-)hero saves the girl and gets a fauxlosophical speech at the end? Full-blown separate genre alright.

The ludicrous amounts of nerdrage in this thread are fascinating. Has anyone actually tried playing this game, and has a valid opinion? Watching someone else's playthrough and exploding in butthurt is hardly worth consideration.

I have a valid opinion.

Your face is shit and so is this game.

Edgy comments will not invalidate a correct observation. Don't be an imbecile like the idiots that brofisted you.

In addition, using minor spoilers to complain about the ending of the game is just a dick move.

You forgot Tomb Raider and The Last of Us. "Waifu protection games" are a full blown genre at this point.

(Deus Ex:HR is mostly a subversion though because the important women in it turn out to be bitches)

Neither TR and TLoU are "waifu protection games". What the fuck are you smoking?

Sometimes it's the player himself who is the protector, protecting the character that he's playing.

I give it three years before they rape System Shock, with Willian Bedford Diego (Stephen Russell) being voiced by the same wanker who raped G4rrett in Thi4f.

Why, my blind and deaf friend is also really excited to play this glorious new Thiaf (he recently finished Bioshock Infinite, though he doesn't know it).

If it won't be the Hacker emoraging about how he raped SHODAN, it'll be Edward Diego emoraging about "the love that can never be" because he's just a pathetic insect.

The fuck is going on around here, is this thread going to drag people fartposting on how we're all naughty bad little boys for judging the game through videos now? I thought the Codex of all places would be free of this shit. Those bitching about this haven't gazed down the abyss hoping to avoid spoilers, I'd pay to see their faces when they realize there is none and it's all a continuous mess about the girl.

Also, the streams could tell you more about how the game is shit than your own playthrough, because the players were absolutely retarded and their dumb plays blatantly exposed the nonexistent AI and the disastrous combat where you can simply beat wave after wave of guards just by swinging the blackjack around.
The codex is not free of trolls, no.

Reminds me of when I wrote a review of Bioshock Infinite shitting on the abysmal story and someone had the nerve to say I didn't finish the game and/or didn't understand the plot.
