I know the exact right person who could revive Faggotry Final and make it Final Fantasy again:

:drink:
Jesus, Morgoth. It's bad enough the man has to resort to making Southpark games and Russian mmos to stay in business, let's not make it worse for him.

Things must really be bad if Square Enix is thinking of letting Eidos Montreal produce a Final Fantasy game when despite years of mediocre failures SE still has a better track record. But at least SE has seen fit that if they go bottom up they may as well lash the anvil of failure to EM's bootstraps as well and make it complete.

When they talk Eidos Montreal, I guess they are talking about the Deus Ex team. If they mean the revolving door that is the Thief team... well someone inside must hate Square Enix and want it dead as soon as possible.

Actually, you both might be wrong. They said Eidos, not Eidos Montreal. In other words, what they really might mean is handing the game to Square Europe (AKA the former publisher Eidos), where it might end up in the hands of any of Square's Western developers, or possibly even an external contractor like Obsidian.

Handing the reigns of a japanese game series to western devs never produces good results, I'm afraid. Only thing that'll save FF is if Square can manage to get their shit together, something I highly doubt will happen because just like Capcom a lot of their best project directors have either left the company or were pushed into shit positions in favor of hacks like Nomura and Toriyama. Without strong team leaders they'll never get things back on track.

But isn't that because when looking for a western dev to outsource an IP to they don't seem to check if in their track record there's any merit?

So Taffer is his nickname, now? It truly shows their ignorance of the series that they've nicknamed their main character "Fucking Idiot".

Bad voice acting and trying way too hard to portray the city as a really really really bad place to live.
Although to give them the benefit of the doubt, the exact words were "some call him taffer", those "some" might be the city guards.

OMG you're right the guards in Thief 2 said taffer this game will be fantastic

Edit:

also, love how there are 50 comments on that video, but only 5 are visible. 9/10 people aren't towing the party line, apparently

Glad to see the story is so solid, you can just remove a mission from it and it won't make any difference

I read the Bank Heist post by bert and thought, haha, pretty funny guys. But wait, its real. Its a real thing. If you pre-order, you actually get an exclusive mission they ripped out of the game to sell later in a "Director's Cut" separately. And then i was sad.

Fuck you Eidos you publisher-cock-sucking greedy franchise-killing unoriginal sons of bitches!

Don't forget the leaderboards so you can see that you completed the bank heist 3 seconds slower than xXxnoobkillaxXx and collected 5 less gold than .:NoScope360:.

Because nothing spells fun like a dickswinging contest.

You know, I wouldn't mind them giving the next Final Fantasy title to Eidos. It's not like the latter can do a worse job that Squeenex themselves have been doing.

On the other hand, I'd rather they just gave the next FF title to the people who did 4 Heroes of Light for the DS. Now those people know how to make an oldschool Final Fantasy title that doesn't suck.

Fat chance though :(

LOL at their attemt to mimick Thief soundtrack. I can hear samples similar to things you could hear in Thief 1... coincidence?
