He directed FONV, which was not exactly a bad game, to say the least. Give credit where credit is due.

Isn't he also the one and only who forbid writers from writing fluff/cool/snarky dialog responses in FNV because "writers shouldn't put words into player's mouth"?
That is one of the highest order heresies and treasons against a Fallout game one can make.
'Nuff said.
And he probably said and did other things we don't know about. That doesn't change the fact that he helmed the creation of a very good game.

As Josh himself has said, he knows a lot about what not to do.
Apparently not enough yet. / And thanks to him, so do we.

Fucking game pass is forcing me to update my windows to a newer version and it's been about 30 minutes and still at %27 :argh:
I feel sorry for all of you who bought this on gamepass and Epic. People never learn.

You guys are full aware that most of those *safe* comments by reviewers were from socialists complaining that the setting doesn't turn capitalists to shreds?

The setting plays if *safe* in so far that everything's morally grey. Much more so than Sawyer managed to do with rape platoon legion.

As for the game itself. It certainly doesn't change the industry and it might as well be a bit worse than their previous offerings (which is actually hard to do). But, it does have little ideas and from what I've seen so far imo its a quality game.

Did someone saw in a stream a language option in the settings?

I dislike my native language and Xbox Game Pass doesn't provide an option to download games in different languages.
What's your native language and why do you dislike it?
German and german dubs are often very boring. The voice actor just speak plain High-German without any dialect or enthusiasm.

Probably g*rman
Doesn't like it because it reminds him of europeans being killed
Reminding another German about the collective guilt is very German, Bruder.

Yeah, it seems some leftist reviewers expected the game to be about seizing means of production from the bourgeois and NPCs to be constantly screaming FUCK THE RICH.

You should've formulated that better, mein Freund. It is not the language in itself which you dislike, but (low quality) German dubs.

As the saying goes, alles klar.

Who knew that some people may be okay with corporations being wacky if it results in them getting to live in cool space colonies with advanced technology

Critics loved Outer Worlds because its hip today to praise anything Obsidian shits out regardless of whether its a great game or a rainbow colored diarrhea with insipid writing.

The same thing happened with Numenera. It has 81 on metacritics and apparently one of the best written games of all time according to these same journos.

They are just afraid to be considered uncool so have to praise "hardcore rpgs" regardless of its qualities.

In the case with Disco Elysium its just a happy coincidence that the game is truly great and deserves the praise.

Is it more RPG or more action game?
Nigga, it's fucking oblivion with guns.
It's Might and Magic 1 with guns. If you go retard, go full retard!

Oh sure, journos liking Outer Worlds is just shilling for obsidian, but liking Disco is a happy coincidence. Fuck off! Some people are always spinning the reviews so it fits their agenda.

6 companions: 2 male (both look handsome), 1 robot, 3 (male-looking) females.

Out of 3 female: 2 are "Strong Independent Women" type and last one is obvious (she makes it known very fast) lesbian.

Interesting retweets from her:
"Heard of a cool tech-bro-weeding interview technique the other day. A male and female engineer conduct the interview session together. If, when the female engineer asks the candidate a question, he directs his answer to the male engineer, then he's out. They said it happens a lot"
If it does happen, it's likely because he's socially inept and doesn't know how to talk to women.
So, they're weeding out people who already have trouble interacting in a social setting. Good job.

:butthurt:

Its only the case for niche RPGs; PoE & Deadfire got the same treatment. We don't see TOW sitting on 90+ metacritic like PoEs were siting on their first weeks. Anyway try to downplay it all you like, its not just most of the journos liking the game, there are many people playing it atm and literally all of them liking/loving it. /but again none of them are prestigious codexers :D

Also writing seems great so far but I can't wait to see what AwesomeButton digs up & obsesses over for couple of years.

To be fair, AwesomeButton also makes lots of good points and its mainly a matter of perspective that gets us into arguments. He clearly loves crpgs, can be reasonable and is allowed like (thankfully) every other person on the codex to voice his opinion. And its good that he does.

So

Yeah, this is not a bro-weeding technique, it's a bro selection technique.

I foresee a bright future for RPGs with such writing talent at Obsidian. Deep psychological and humanist understanding of the personal and public issues of the present day.

In all serioussnes, I agree. Regardless of gender or of position. If someone asks you a question you answer to the person asking the question. Anyway who does not, is either too shy to work or is a suck-up who's a pain to work with.
