Most of your good programmers will fall into the "too shy" category FYI
Non-programmers just don't get it.

"Heard of a cool tech-bro-weeding interview technique the other day. A male and female engineer conduct the interview session together. If, when the female engineer asks the candidate a question, he directs his answer to the male engineer, then he's out. They said it happens a lot"
If it does happen, it's likely because he's socially inept and doesn't know how to talk to women.
So, they're weeding out people who already have trouble interacting in a social setting. Good job.

Yeah, this is not a bro-weeding technique, it's a bro selection technique.

In all serioussnes, I agree. Regardless of gender or of position. If someone asks you a question you answer to the person asking the question. Anyway who does not, is either too shy to work or is a suck-up who's a pain to work with.
It can also be a matter of the lad subconsciously perceiving the male engineer as being the interview leader or what have you, thus he answers the question put forth by a socially inferior person directly to him.

Yeah, that's called a suck-up. I have yet to be in an interview where thats actually required. And that includes a military hearing I had a month ago.

That's utterly retarded. I could avoid looking at people for hundreds of different reasons.

Also writing seems great so far but I can't wait to see what AwesomeButton digs up & obsesses over for couple of years.

To be fair, AwesomeButton also makes lots of good points and its mainly a matter of perspective that gets us into arguments. He clearly loves crpgs, can be reasonable and is allowed like (thankfully) every other person on the codex to voice his opinion. And its good that he does.

So

I won't be playing this at least until it's out on steam. Mainly for two reasons:
1. My GPU (GTX780) burned out a couple of months ago, and since I don't want to be caught between generations, I won't be buying a new one until Q2 2020.
2. Once I get a new GPU and probably most of a new PC, I'll be starting with Cyberpunk and RDR2. So October 2020 will be a great time to try out ToW.

Regarding my "obsessing", I've just been repeating the same points, which amount pretty much to:
Similar to how Carrie Patel likes weeding out "tech-bros", I like weeding out games which emanate low-effort, design-by-committee, and undereducated but high-nosed writing. Based on what I see, I make assumptions, I analyze, and I form an expectation. Then I share this expectation with others. Nothing illegal here. My impression has been that ToW shows all these signs.

I'm not saying anything I haven't already said before: If Outer Worlds impresses with anything, it will be the C&C in quests and dialogue. I hope to God it does impress at least with that, because I don't see much else in this game, unfortunately. Unfortunately.

MCA's tweet is kinda hilarious, congratulating Cain and Leonard and while making fun of Bethesda.

OK, spend another 10 hours preload the game and it's at 99% now.

Hope it won't get "something is wrong" again.

In the case with Disco Elysium its just a happy coincidence that the game is truly great and deserves the praise.

If you remember to subtract 80 from any mainstream critic score, I think it gives a fair idea of the difference between these two.

I agree, and I'm sorry I'll miss it. The best fun is when everyone is playing a new game at the same time right on release.

But I guess you really meant this in the sense that you'll miss the fun of my supposed "obssessing"? I don't really feel that strong for this game, sorry to disappoint. This is in fact the problem - I should have been feeling strongly about it and I don't.

People are reading waaay too deep into this. Maybe she's just ugly? Or maybe the candidate is actually gay?

Its only the case for niche RPGs; PoE & Deadfire got the same treatment. We don't see TOW sitting on 90+ metacritic like PoEs were siting on their first weeks.

And Poe and Deadfire having 89 and 88 doesn't bother you? Made by Obsidian praised to high heaven by journos?

Why is Elex 67 then? Is it because Poe is such a superior game or because media retards praise Obsidian shit no matter what, but when it comes to other less prestigious developers they are objective all of a sudden?

Because it's European and it's UI is not moron-friendly. This tends to piss off american journos, requires them to leave twitter for too long.

judging by LP it would be good idea to wait for mods to cut loot to around 20% of its current amount. that's on highest hardcore difficulty.

Correct me if I am wrong, but from what footage I have seen so far, you cannot actually lower your weapon when walking around town?

I believe you're wrong. Hold down R to holster your weapon.
