Ya. Everyone on the EU guild who i recognized from the codex can send invitan.

On that topic, when I get home later tonight I'll queue up the next upgrade. What do we want first? I'm thinkibg architecture + guild stash could be pretty swell. But guild armorer for bling is pretty cheap too. Does anyone in the guild have any preferences or anything they'd really like us to get?

I think it's a common bank for all the guild, you can set permissions to access it.

Well we can't have everybody going "this is my last post" then keep posting. That would be bad form.

You know, I could go set up a xenforo addon to reintroduce dumbfuck tags to the layout. I think we have a prime candidate for one :M

Sooo, I just did some WvW with the lady and the guildies tonight and oh man, sure had a blast, going between various camps and grabbing them; can't wait til Guild Workshops research is complete so we can go and slap in the Banner research and plop it down at every place we cap. Lots of fun, oh yeah, and we'll definitely make more people join in. Fucking French though, seriously.

Then I went and tried the "BGs". Is it possible to queue as a group to any of this stuff, WvW or PvP? Don't want Tournament Mode yet, but would prefer to do it with non-random folk, or at least half-random one. If it's possible, how does one do that?

And yeah. Had massive fun with PvP, did 2 matches, both were the water map, lost first, won the other, MVP both times amusingly enough. Our side sure crushed them the second time around though, like 500-80 or something. Had a blast.

Oh yeah, and what's in those reward boxes that you can buy in Heart of the Mists?

Siiiigh, Orr (70-75, 75-80 and 80 areas) are repetitive as fuck. RISEN UNDEAD RISEN UNDEAD RISEN UNDEAD RISEN UNDEAD RISEN UNDEAD RISEN UNDEAD. Luckily there's a 70-80 winter zone I just found. I will hit 80 tomorrow anyway, so it doesn't really matter. But I spent the entire day in Orr and it wasn't very fun. Mainly the story quests were disappointing with all the fucking risen stuff. There were some fun parts though, but I won't spoil it.

You can't queue with them, sadly, the closest thing that's not Tournament mode to playing in group is just letting one of your mates join one of the sPvP servers and the others to right-click in his portrait to "Join this player in PvP". You will join the same sPvP server, you aren't assured a place in the same team but you can try to change teams once inside.

is the guild bank unique for each member?

Guild stash is a shared 50 slot bank.
Guild vault is a shared 100 slot bank with a different set of permissions as to who can take/deposit to/from it.
Deep cave excpands guild vault. Those are the neat upgrades in architecture.

Economy also looks pretty nice. If we can get it to rank 3. then we can buy a 3-day guild-wide +10% magic find buff.

Anyway, I'm utterly confused as to what to pick. So I let everyone who's been made a Bro eligble for queuing upgrades. I'll leave it in yours, suicidebunnys, berekans or whoever else first decides to splurge's capable hands.

I posted a bitchy comment yesterday but intuitively deleted it because the game has suddenly grown on me.

It is freaking make-Blizzard-wet-their-pants gorgeous. And it manages to draw players together, which is something WoW has profoundly failed at.

Bought this game on Tuesday. Got a guy to level 15. Got into the Path of Exile beta today. Have no interest in returning to GW2. Oops.

It really is incredible, though -- I don't know if PoE is a good game overall but, holy Jesus, I almost forgot what the first two hours of a good action RPG feel like. It's like I was suffering from a Diablo 3 and GW2 brand of Stockholm syndrome.

PoE is awesome, no mistake there.

Although after point reset I took a wrong build and now am a fucking glass cannon. FUUUUCK.

Also, bah at no way to queue with friend/s. Is Tournament pre-arrangeable at least?

IIRC you want to:

Step 1: Have a friend join a sPVP server with empty slots
Step 2: right click friends name
Step 3: Select "Join player in PVP"

I like setting up the no tolerance policy against anything game breaking. However the execution of this was hilarious. 72h suspension for botting against permanent ban for buying an item from a vendor. Talkin' 'bout matching punishment to the crime. Who's more dedicated into cheating here - the guy who codes an automation application or the one who uses a glitch in a game?

Dat trading post.
Crashing the server 'cause everone's like "ZOMG TRADING POST IS UP! QUICK QUICK!" then hitting it like a rape train.

In other news, my weaponsmithing's up to level 65 weapons now. If anyone needs shiny weapons forged on Seafarer's, I can make them if you bring me mats :P

Well they bought hundreds of thousands of weapons, so it was "systematic" cheating as well, plus they did offer lowering of punishment to 72 hours if people send in a ticket and then delete everything they gained. Fair enough to me.

Also those that just bought one item got 72 hours.

So I just found a set of really good recipes for level 60 weapons/shields. They're fairly cheap, using only platinum, some fairly cheap wood and vendor items. Gives yellow weapons. Base stats are precision/toughness/condition damage. But 4 idenfital items can be tossed in the mystic fountain for an item of the same type with different usually slightly better) stats. Tossed in 4 shields and got a really good tanking shield in return.

Thoughts after a few hours of play:

1. WTF why did they remove click to move? You know, what every good player in GW1 used because drive mode was laggy and imprecise? Guess what, in GW2 it comes with even more lag, and it's the ONLY option.

2. UI isn't configurable. Another GW1 feature gone in GW2

3. More random UI complaints: Changing health bar to a crappy health circle thing? Locking WEAPON SWITCHING and SKILL SLOTS until a higher level?

4. The game looks like shit. Technically it may be a half-notch above GW1, but it has the plastic crap look. I mean plastic wrap.

5. Enemies are invulnerable constantly. Thanks for the rails, wouldn't want random bandit #18543 to die 10 feet before he enters the designated (and invisible) combat zone. Even worse, enemies abusing this to break the game. Lone enemy boss character charges my group, gets health down to 20% in 2s, then becomes invulnerable and runs away.

6. You can attack while moving. Tremendous dumbing down of the game. Movement was a huge part of GW1, now it's free. Now I don't even have to break attack while dodging 100% of enemy ranged attacks.

7. No mana bar. Shouldn't need to explain how derp this is.

8. QUEST POINTERS! Yes, GW1 had quest pointers, WHEN YOU TOOK THE QUEST. Now the map has pointers for skills and locations you haven't even found yet. Did they want to remove as much exploration as possible from the game? Can't let players miss a skill point I suppose.

9. Clusterfuck as hell battles. Just from the tutorial I can see large group play will go from a high-coordination activity to AoE spamming groups of people.

10. No body blocking. More essential GW1 tactics removed to dumb down the game.

11. Too many non-skippable cinematics. Yes, I know everyone loves these.

Is there any significant content I'll miss by only playing Human and Bigger Human characters? I'm not all that interested in the god-awful looking furries, but if there are any starts which aren't as derpy I'll take them.
