Greetings!
New travels fast!
Thank you for posting the tweet and changing the topic name, you guys!
Also the title may as well be "Sword Coast: The Plot of Baldur's Gate 1" lol, nice homage, I expect the story will be better than just a parody of the first Baldur's Gate game though.
I love how the name gives strong associations everyone seems to get right off the bat! That's what we were playing the most during the time the game was conceived, and that's the feel we wanna express through the game. We're not going the parody route in any way this time, though. It will be a straight story, much less "post-modern" than Atom. In fact, I haven't seen the way the plot moves at a certain point in the game since 1991.
And I hope party can have more than just 2 members as shown on screens.
Well seems like there is plenty of space for more in the ui, you can see that it adjusts for how many party members you have at least based on the screenshots with the player character running around solo.
We're currently testing with a total party of 5, but that's candid exclusive inside info, WIP, many things may change, don't quote me on anything.
This is going to be amazing. Love the Atom franchise.
Thank you!
Writing already looks like shit.
Oh no it doesn't! This time the texts are much shorter and to the point, the language is richer (as in I checked and more different words are used than in previous games) and we have a professional editor!
What's that meter on the left?
And I hope party can have more than just 2 members as shown on screens.
Looks like it's the mana-bar of the selected character.
Overall UI and movement system looks like a mix of infinity engine and Larian stuff.
Looks like it's the mana-bar of the selected character.
I think it's characters action points shown redundantly.
Remember that this is supposed to be no-magic or low-magic setting
Yeah them's are stamina points used for actions, skills and movement in TB mode. Currently we're playing with the idea of it being where it is because it reminds me of Temple of Elemental Evil, but depending on the results of enmasse playtesting it might change its look. I think it's pretty cool now though. Sometimes you really need to be able to see a large visual representation of your SP to make the most efficient series of attacks and moves.
Pretty soon, we're already working on one.

Perhaps the bar on the left is inspired by Temple of Elemental Evil?
Yeahh, I really liked that bar, hence the current positioning and look of the bar.
A name with a subtitle for something that isn't a sequel always makes it sound like shovelware though.
We just figured to go with the most descriptive name. It's about a place where the biggest city is called Swordhaven, and it's also about a conspiracy that has to do with "iron". So it goes!
Is this the Baldur's Gate 3 we deserve?
Wouldn't go that far ;[ Let's start with this is Князь: Легенды Лесной страны 4 we never asked for and build up from that!!!! Maybe build until it becomes Hard to Be a God III: Electric Gabagool we deserve! Hard to say, but as always, we will pour our hearts and souls into it.
Instantly wishlisted! Probably D1P. I've been craving an RPG like this recently. Hopefully it will be free of trannies, Owlcat-type bloat, or Larian-style writing. It should, based on their previous work.
Thank you very much!
Thanks man!
inspired by bg1
no you can't be a mage/priest
pass
You can be a master of unarmed. God's power will keep that pimp hand strong!

Seeing as the Atom series liked to use the word "retard" in dialogues, seems pretty safe to say we'll get a non politically correct RPG here.
Well full disclosure, I first learned the word retard is forbidden in Western culture a year or so after all the writing for the game was done and even then I thought it was just some uses of it, not like the whole word in general. I learned a whole lot of other things as well, things that kept me wondering. If something like that appears in Swordhaven, it won't be a political statement, more of a representation of cultural difference. Some things that are obvious in one culture aren't that obvious in another. Even though the media I consooom is 75% in English for years now, I still don't quite get the culture a hundred percent.
It says "inspired by" not "a copy of".
The font begs to differ.
It's a really cool font though, it's very pretty, easy to read, and doesn't look boring!
We licenced it out!
Is this the Baldur's Gate 3 we deserve?
Why do people set themselves up for disappointment like this?
I expect a game with BG1-like tone and atmosphere. Anything more is a bonus.
Very well said man!
