So, what is the Codex actually looking forward to?

Eh... I mean no disrespect to the gentleman above (really), and I certainly understand that there may be a language issue at play, but... Is everybody just letting the heaving, squirming madness of that post just roll on by?
Hey look! Another guy fancying himself a gentlemen and professing as much through his Arcanum avatar and quirky speech.

I can almost hear the pompous, nasal british whine.

You really want to pass judgement with a name like 'Poocolator'? What are you? Fucking 12?
I pass gas.

And I guess AP

Actually looking forward to more comics and cartoons this year than games but that's on par for course generally

I haven't heard of any of those are they any good
I think at least half of them are NDS games.
Yes.

The RPG scene long shifted to handhelds, period.

Recently, I started picking up on names of possibly worthwhile DS games, and have been considering getting one myself.

That aside, great elements of RPGs are found in not a few turn-based games on the PC. Amazing the kind of constant business turn-based game developers manage to get. I swear, those guys probably outlast pausable real-time narrativist RPG developers, considering that all these games jack up on huge costs of presentation just to appeal to the audiences beyond the niche, only turned off by them because of complaints of complexity. While turn-based game developers are okay with smaller business for smaller audiences who will only adore their games.

Theres not much too look forward, i dont even see any nw2 expansion planned, even something like zehir would work since we are completely starved, can only dream of another mask of the betrayer but it will never happens off course.

Theres dragon age who could be decent, i enjoyed mass effect except it being very short and very close to a linear interactive movie , but cant deny i greatly enjoyed it.
My expectations are extremly low now , if its fantasy mass effect as i expect it isnt that bad.Tend to think GTA is a good rpg now...

Except that theres AOD off course, most independant rpg turned to be the same shit as usual , no not the same shit , the same but with downgraded graphics and absolutely nothing innovative. But this one may be the exception that prove the rule.
Eventually jeff vogels new games could be good , i like the geneforge and avernum, still theres some tedious copy paste encounters all the way until very strategic boss encounters, still its not orgasmic.

I see up int he thread someone thinking getting DS games, i was intrigued by them as well some creens reminds me of bards tale or wizardry , anyone tried them ?
Ive seen reviews about this game darkspire you just linked theres interisting features and a retro game but reviews of it were less than stellar.
Also i tried consoloe rpgs, a lot is completely rubbish , i found a few good ones like suikodens and valkyrie profile, but for example dragon quest make me wants to knock my head against the wall till i pass out...and dont get me started ont he teen dumb heroes they serves us in final fantasy.

Well,
I haven't played the Witcher yet, but I intend to do so. I suppose you can say I'm looking forward to that, mildly. Fallout: New Vegas might be interesting, considering who's making it, but I have my doubts. I was looking forward to Dragon Age, but the recent previews have left me less than interested. Still, I'll probably get it. One way or another. Age of Decadence looks very promising, though.

EDIT: Mostly LP updates though

Age of Decadence.
Both FF13 games.
Fallout: New Vegas
The unnanounced Obsidian game.
I'm also hoping for future NWN2 extensions, seeing that Mulhorand was hinted in SoZ.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Having enough money to start developing my own indie game would be a good start.
From then on, it can only go uphill. Having another extremely awesome vapourware RPG alongside AoD will push up hopes.

a) I was actually asking a question (as in, does your name actually reference RL)

and

b) Epic fail posting a reply, like fucking hours later. Nice work.

Use textmode, like Chronicles of Dorien (sp?), and you don't need money. Dont take fame. Don't need no credit card to ride this train. It's strong and sudden and it's cruel sometimes. But it might just save your life.

That's the power of love.

to be serious it is hard to see what the codex may look forward too more than the all game developers getting cancer after they have died. Skyway don't wish them as well though.

Personally I used to look forward to Dragon age, but I lost quite a bit of my enthuiasm.
Alpha protocol I will probably also pick up.
If VD ever releases something i will give it a go.
Hardly a rpg, but Diablo 3 will probably be a fun game for a while.

(not counting strategy games i look forward too)

AoD of course. Cyclopean and the other Iron Tower games look nifty too, but I'm not banking on their completion, other than Scars of War.

Alpha Protocol will definitely be worth a rental, as will Mass Effect 2. Dragon Age might sit squarely in the "so bad it's mildly enjoyable" category or may be decent, possibly eliciting a rental as well.

Hopefully Bayonetta turns out decent, a good DMC5 comes out, and Hayashi doesn't totally fuck the pooch with Sigma 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3 (though it looks a little too late for the former).
