If he's talking about AI bots it's because they simply get items based on the time. As in, after a set amount of time they receive a certain set of items.

Yep intermediate bots a huge cheaters as far as items goes, but they still retarded. I am ashamed to admit I lost my first game vs them yesterday, after 86 or so victories. My team outretarded them and I was trying out trundle )=

Also there is no such thing as low elos for new players. you dont get elo till lvl 30 anyway, its just that in LoL there is a lot of new players during first 20 lvls so your teams might not meet all criterias

Picked up Veigar and enjoying myself now. That feeling you get when your AP tops 500 and you can just pop anyone who didn't build to be insanely tanky is great. Not to mention splatting giant mobs of creeps with dark matter, or wrecking a whole team with it. I'll probably pick up Tryndamere next- pubstomp heroes are fun to play while they last. Or maybe I'll go for Warwick. I like junglers, not having to worry about your retarded lanemates is very relaxing.

Trynd with complete rune set is a nasty mofo, noob Trynd will get stomped hard even by other noobs. His early game is shit, very squishy, one stun is often enough to send you back to fountain.

Warwick on the other hand has lifesteal passive and his Q gives you life back. Lots of people build him tanky but IMO hes much better AD/Lifesteal, jump in, get the kill and gtfo. One of the best champs in the game IMO. Perfect ganker.

Rammus seems to be entirely about getting other people kills. All of his skills really don't do damage, he's basically a two trick pony. Slow them and then taunt them so they stay still for someone else to kill.

Damned go do what I did, Best Buy has boxed sets for 20 bucks that has like 12-15 heroes and about 1.3k money points. You can also get it in their bundle page on their store, but there it would cost you about 35 dollars so BB is cheaper.

Well, he's a tank. He's not really supposed to be killing anyone, just disabling and causing trouble.

But you can get a lot of kills with him, at least on pubs.

Rammus is banned pretty much every ranked game Im playing. His taunt is most feared weapon in the game.
Powerball-taunt gank almost always results in a kill.

Wow, what elo are you at? Rammus is pretty much a non-factor along with shen on all the pro streams/dremhack

Rammus is a terror at sub-1400 ELO. His usefulness as a jungler is directly proportional to how crap peoples map awareness is.

Good Rammus = Map control.

Morde is also banned almost every game. Has no CC whatsoever but people dont like to play against him. I never really find him difficult to play aginst. Laning is a bit hard but late game I just ignore him till the others are dead.

Oh and Im about 1100 elo give or take 50points or so. After about 250 ranked games now its just spinning in circles. Win a game, lose a game.
Normal games 240W-220L, and ranked about 120W-130L.

Sigh. Nothing like going 25/6/3 and STILL losing because it's a 3v4 and your allies are retarded enough to run off without you while you're defending the base from super creeps. I took out half their team just by myself when the 4 of them showed p at the last push, without dying or using my ult.

Its not about the kills, its about pushing towers. You can be 50/0/50 and still lose.

I had yesterday 65 minute game and we lost cause we didnt push. You need a fucking army to kill 2 tanks after 60 minutes.

My team have lost 10 of our ranked games. In only 1 of them did we not lead in kills. The reason is that we play with an extremely effective team-fighting team, which is less good at pushing. So when we lose, it's because we get pushed hard and they snipe one of our players when he/she is out of position.

So yeah, losing while leading in kills is very possible.

I realize that, but when someone on your team has that overwhelming a power advantage, pushing is trivially easy if anyone bothers to not be a fucking retard. The enemy team can't stop a push if they're all dead. And it's not like the people we were fighting were really any good.

Stacking major cooldown reduction items and AP produces some crazy results. Can't wait until I get get some decent stats from runes and masteries. AP carries are more fun than I'd expected, mostly because you seem to have a very low CD nuke that functions as your main attack, and it's so fun sniping people with it then dodging around for a few seconds until it's back up. Beats the hell out of the usual right click carry.

Edit: The one major disadvantage seems to be the fact that you can't take out a tower very quickly with an AP carry. I'm guessing Warwick wouldn't have that kind of problem.

Bah. I'm getting kind of fed up with having to lvl up to 30 to play ranked. I'm lvl 19, close to 20, but I've studied the game a lot more than the average 30 I see on the LoL forums.

Also kind of dreading buying runes. I've got 15k IP saved up, and that probably won't be enough if I want to play 4-5 champs competitively (I was going to just pay IRL cash for the rune page bundle)

Focus on playing normal with friends for a bit. Ranked will cause you all kinds of rage - beleive me - and is not a goal in itself. :) Wait for the ladders to reset for S2 at the very least, as the 1200-ish ELO range where new players start is filled with retards atm.

Why do people think Veigar should go mid? You can't harass, let alone kill, your opponent during the laning phase, especially if you're trying to build your AP. Wouldn't it be better to send someone strong in the early game mid, and have Veigar in a side lane where his stun might get someone a kill?

Are we talking high tier?

He can't solo top. He can't jungle. Bot is reserved for support + Ranged AD carry. Mid is plenty of farm for his Q until the team-fighting phase (basically the reason you should always send the AP Carry mid).

Ah, that makes sense. Of course it's still crap tier (I think I'm level 9 now?) but people always try to mimic that shit, even when it isn't applicable. All the times I've gone mid so far the enemy sends an extra to harass the shit out of me ASAP, which is annoying as hell because you got fuck all to fight back with. Though it's less that they're sending people for that purpose and more that lots of retards like to fight over mid.

What's the difference between the top and bottom lanes? I've seen a lot of people say that the top lane is more dangerous.

Something that I've noticed is that since heroes in this game don't have even close to the same wind-up times in dota, it's suddenly a lot more difficult as melee to dash in and get a creep kill without getting sniped once or twice.

I am not really liking tank heroes. Generally they just don't do much damage after midgame. You invest money in becoming invincible but then you become irrelevant because your skills can't keep up with peoples' HP pools and so on.

I just spent a bunch of points on some runes. I just don't care much about runes, from what I understand you need some armor and armor penetration ones to jungle, so I'm getting those in case I ever need them.

That collector's pack came with a couple level 3 runes. +19 health at level 18? rofl. I see one in the store that is +5.35 health. It costs 820 IP, which is about 7 game's worth of IP.

Tank heroes aren't really played in the top tier unless they have massive amounts of CC (read: Amumu, who is also a good jungler).

The revolves around tanky DPS. Melee damage dealers like Jarvan and Warwick who can be build to tank pretty well and still dish out some damage as well as having access to CC.

Generally, you want either top or bottom to be a solo lane because your team has a jungler. (Your team will get more gold and XP with a jungler because you're farming the jungle creep as well).

The reason bottom lane is usually the 2v2 is because having 2 people nearby gives your team greater presence near dragon. since dragon is worth 2 player kills of gold (and a decent chunk of xp) spread across the entire team, controlling dragon early game leads to an extremely strong late game.

And grunker speaks the truth. How many times have I complained that our teams didn't have enough CC by now? :D CC wins games.
