Saints Row the Fourth

The character creator is out on Steam now, so if you're getting this game and don't want to fuck around with the Create-A-Boss before playing the actual game, that's good.

Outfits range from normal to "goofy" to Star Wars (yes, you can dress up as Han Solo). Emotes have series classics but also some new "meme" ones, like a Gangnam Style and Epic Sax Guy parodies.

Three female and four male voices: English, Black and Russian for the ladyboss and English, Black, British and Nolan North (no really, it just says Nolan North) for the manboss. I think they are the same VAs as in The Third.

Female Ruskie voice is back ?
And Robin Atkin Downes too, which is good.

Mandatory plastic surgery decided by Deep Silver doesn't really sound like a good idea, you never know what they'll grab and try to sell you as DLC for their next totally new Saints Row game.

You would think "There's no such thing as a $1,000,000 limited edition for a game, any game"... and you would be wrong. Saints Row jumps the shark yet again: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/08/10/why-not-saints-row-4-gets-1-million-special-edition/

It's not just a deranged fantasy of the RPS crew, it is FOR REALZ(TM), exclusive from game.co.uk: http://www.game.co.uk/en/saints-row-iv-super-dangerous-wad-wad-edition-180208. "Format: you choose!". Don't you want to have Volition build you Saints Row IV for Atari ST? If you have $1,000,000 spare cash, you might just have your dream come through.

Edit WW: This post was in a separate thread. Happy?

Add in some super-powers and aliens and that'll make it different from GTA they think. Just what is new in this game? The super-power stuff looks like lamer versions of the abilities we've seen in other games of this type (Prototype and inFAMOUS) and the gameplay looks the same as the third. Nice cash in before GTA V arrives they're thinking.
Yeah, I think about that too.
But SR4 development was started under THQ leadership, so after they have this Deep Silver as their new overlord, we don't know if SR5 will keep on this silly approach or returns a bit to its root, which was a San Andreas clone with a good balance of comedy and drama in its stories.

Letting Volition works with modders to create toolset for SR2 and SRTT is really a great intention from Deep Silver.
It shows that they care about the future of the series, and not only a quick cash grab scheme.
Whereas under THQ leadership, an official toolset for SR games was practically impossible to develop.

Maybe I'm too optimistic, only time will tell I guess.

Kim Jong-Un has a spare million dollars?

No bro - it will be Abramovich. Since Saints Row 4 is the only thing where he can live out his dream of being a president not of a football club.

Moo?
Got a UK copy of SRTT for about 3.50 off Ebay and the key that came with it worked. So third party stuff would probably be perfectly fine.

Early reviews are up on Metacritic, and it's got an 84 average. Is this really a good game, or is it the power of Doritos? I suppose we'll find out soon enough.
